Help Pages
Have you ever wanted to be able to customize /help with ease? Now you can!
Just make a file with the text, and you're good to go!
- Download the plugin
- Put it in your folder
- Run the server once
- Make a file in the HelpPages/Pages/ folder called Main.txt
- This is the main help file. You can now add whatever you want in it. If you want more files for more arguments, follow these steps
- Check the argument you want. Such as /help donor somerank.
- Make the file donor_somerank.txt in the HelpPages/Pages/ folder. Again, just put whatever you want in it.
- The underscore ( "_" ) represents a space in the command. So a file called "i_love_this_server.txt" would need the "/help i love this server" command.
To reload do /helpreload. This requires the helppages.reload permission.
2.0 has REVAMPED permissions! How do they work you may ask? Here's how.
Depending on which folder you put the text file into, that's your permission. So let's say you have two folders. One for op the other for default. If default doesn't have the op permission, it will open the first one. Since op has both permissions, it will open one of them (eh.. I should change this haha). So if the player has the permission on the folder, they can read the page!
There's a typo in the config.yml. It says "Auto-Uodate" instead of "Auto-Update".
This might be a noob question but is there some tutorial about how to format these files?
Sorry for the double post, just realized, also I have this plugin that has /wp as a command, and using /wp says "This page does not exist!", so the plugin is making /wp a /help command.
@PaulBGD I suggested %space% for a space
Maybe if you make a folder named "Ranks" and put a file "Default.txt" then /help <folder> <file> and also you can put a folder in a folder ./help ranks <folder name> <folder name> <file name>
EDIT: Nevermind about the folder thing, I forgot you use that for permissions now.
Also, I have a file named ranks.txt, I never changed any of the pages from 1.X.X to 2.0, so I have 1.X.X files, and /help ranks returns as an error.
@Dsiddia
/help townystuff ranks
Would be your command

Still not _? Hm, I'm not quite sure what to make it. Maybe I'll make it customizable.
Hi,
Can you give an actual example of the permissions needed please as I can't get it to work.
Thanks.
Where is the new version and 2.0 ?
@PaulBGD
Still maybe not _, maybe %space% or %_% or something?
Uploaded version 2.0! It has new permissions and uses an underscore to represent spaces. I'm debating whether to have a vault integration so certain groups can see certain pages. What do you guys think?
@TheCoolGuy123_5_Minecraft_
What symbol would you want?
Instead of - for a space could you do another symbol
I have a rank "Co-owner" and I'm making it /help ranks coowner, but I want /help ranks co-owner and /help ranks co owner work too.
@ThoLav
Thanks for confirming it works with 1.7.2. Installing it then :D
Awesome!
@MrRaik
There is no need for an update. It's running flawless with 1.7.x
update 1.7.2 update when?

@999Mockingjay999
Next version will have a "bukkit" load of features (including this)!
Would you be able to add a feature to change the entire help pages depending on whether a player has a permission or not? i.e Default users will see (messages) and donors will see (other messages) using the same command.
@blixtmen
If you mean 'normal' help as in Essentials help, tell your admins to use /ehelp and your users can just use /help
/help > this plugin /ehelp > essentials help
Is there a way to disable the custom /help message, depending on the group/permission. For example: The Default group, see the /help, message that you have made with this plugin, but the Admins see the normal/default /help message that havent been made with this plugin. I hope you understand my question, if not just ask about it. Thanks!
@hawkfalcon
Next update has an option to choose the command(s), and tab for the pages? Or does /help not show up when you tab?
Please add /? and /<tab> as well ;)
