FAQ

Q: Does this work with ScoreboardStats or NametagEdit?
A: The standard Bukkit API doesn't favors compatibility between plugins. They use their own system, and this could lead players to crash and to override the main scoreboard (saved on the disk) used by HealthBar.

Q: Why this plugin does not work with TagAPI, and the health shown below the tag is always 0?
A: Right now TagAPI breaks the scoreboard functionalities. Even if you try to set the health with the command /scoreboard, you will see 0. I already posted a ticket for TagAPI. Please note: only if a player has a colored or different tag the health is bugged. This is being solved by the developer of TagAPI.

Q: I always see the hearts on mobs, whatever is the config.
A: Update mcMMO to the latest version.

Q: Could you add health bars under the name tag?
A: I cannot set an individual text for each player, like on mobs. I can change only the number, and I cannot change the position or the color of that number.

Q: Could you set a range to see the health?
A: I'm limited by minecraft client, so I cannot change this, nor the position of the bar. You can use the option to see the bar of the mob only looking directly at him, and even this is limited.

Q: Could you add permissions for mob bars?
A: I will add this in future.

Q: Why can't I see the player bars with Spout?
A: Spout doesn't show team's prefix and suffix, this means that even if you create a team manually, with a prefix, it will not show up. This is a Spout bug and must be fixed by the author, I can't do anything.

Q: I get this error: Task [...] generated an exception java.lang.AbstractMethodError
A: Update to the latest version of Essentials.

What this plugin cannot do

  • Add more lines to mobs
  • Set individual text below the players' tags
  • Set a color before the number of the health below
  • Display the health below only for some players, while others have it hidden
  • Change the range from which you can see the health below
  • Use options on mobs, like range, height, width, etc.. of the health bar
