What is the problem?
When I put the log block down it stays. this started to happend when the server updated to 1.4.4

Hey I was having the same problem the block sticks when the log is placed sideways, Just change the tool-block setting in your config to another block just make sure it's a placeable item. Reload your server and try it out it should fix the bug.
