If a player joins a server with the name Jason, then logs in again but as jason HawkEye does not create a new user, and does not log everything jason does as Jason.
1.0.5b
This should be fixed soon. It is critical!
How is he logging in with the casing of his name different?
It's the same vice versa, i.e. if "jason" joins first, "Jason" will be invisible to HawkEye, which is a huge problem! Please fix as soon as possible.
Wait so are the Minecraft usernames Jason and jason different accounts?
@oliverw92: Go no?
How can 2 people be named the same? I see det different with J and j, but if you have a online-mode server without any bullshit people can't have the same name?
@FackTheCampers: Go It is one people using Jason then jason.
The only way a server could have two players with the same name, just different capitalization, is with a server in off-line mode with, ahem, 'non-premium' clients.
Go try it on minecraft.net if you don't believe me. Try to register your player name, just with a different capitalization. It will not let you.
Can anyone else confirm this is only an issue if you have the server in offline mode?
Confirmed, it's not possible to have 2 names with different casing in online mode.
@oliverw92: Go
I can confirm that also.
This is _not_ an issue which affects servers using offline-mode only. On my server I've got, for example, a player called "H20_Predator". Previously we've been using BigBrother, which added his name to its player-table in lowercase. When we switched to HE we obviously imported the existing data. Which added the player as "h20_predator" to HawkEye's user table. Now due to this it did _not_ log said player's actions. Only after manually changing his name to use the correct capitalization in the hawk_players table it began logging again.
Upvote. Can't a paid player login with a different case? I know it's not possible to register a different case name, but the real question is if they can login and change the case at any time. If so this is a fairly big issue if well known. Or maybe a paid player unregisters their account, then buys it again as a different case? Thanks for reading :)
