HardcoreNewWorld
With HardcoreNewWorld when a player dies on the battle world they are banned from the server. Once there is only one player left on the battle world they are declared the winner. Once a winner is declared the battle world is re-generated and all banned players are allowed back in to play again. While the game is going on any players that join will be put into a "waiting" room.
Features:
- Players can queue up for the next match in the waiting room
- When a match is going on the game waits for a configurable min amount of players.
- A configurable min/max amount of players needed to play a match
- Players will not be able to PvP for a set amount of time from the beginning of the match
Long Term Features:
- Track players wins and display a leader board.

well if i could run this as a secondary meaning that while players are hangin out in my mainworld they join the waiting list. then get sent to the hardcore world. then when they die sent them back to my mainworld i would use it.

It is setup this way due to the request. Once I meet the request I may go ahead and improve on it. The initial idea with the waiting room is to allow players that were not in the last match get first crack at the next one...but if I were to design a queuing system the exact same effect would be had. The problem with running two currently is after the end of the match it deletes and regenerates the world...so that can soak up a lot of the CPU/Memory if both start regenerating at the same time. Once I have a good proof of concept of the idea and see if it catches on, if it does the I will start making some large improvements.

Posted May 9, 2012Question. if you built a waiting room deal. why would you need to ban players at all? just make a sorta player list of players that are currently playing and when they die remove them from the list and the world and send them to a basic world (waiting room) where they can just chat with others waiting for the next match.. and if your going that far. why wouldnt you set up a dual world setup with 1 waiting room and two matches running at the same time. but you would want to set up some kinda system so that people that want to be in the same match as others can do so and friends arnt split up. but its a neat idea. i would definitely try it..
