HandyTorch
Put a torch or glowstone (or lavabucket) in your hand, and you'll shine through the darkness as you walk around.
To use:
(1) Equip a torch, glowstone, or other light-emitting item in hand.
(2) That's it. No configuration, no permissions, no commands.
Caveats:
There is a minor Minecraft bug in areas of sky-lit water at night. When a light is extinguished, it can leave some glow in the water until another light is presented nearby.
This version does not try to compute overlap of light sources. There may be some cases where it acts funny if two people are on the same block, lighting and extinguishing their own lights.
This is an adaptation (and resurrection) of a couple of older dynamic lighting plugins. Most have been discontinued. I've rewritten the code from scratch, after seeing how they fooled CraftBukkit and Minecraft into introducing a light in the world at the player's location.
@eldarstorm
thats weird, never happens to me
are you sure your other plugins arent the cause? maybe something that modifies netherrack or something
Plugin works great, but have a easily repeatable issue in the nether. When holding a torch in the nether it will spawn blocks (netherrack) right on top of you.
@Shirou7000
alright, yes it should work for you
@cvxx7q
Nah I didn't cuss I was confused and wanted to ask first if it works still or not. If it works for you, I don't see a reason why it shouldn't on mine.
@Shirou7000
have you even tested it?
(since it works for me fine, but we all have different servers of course)
Is it still working (1.0.0) ?
gonna got update ? :O :[
@hariedo
Psst... OnPlayerMove check itemInHand of the player... Maybe a fix for the bug @cvxx7q reported?
oh no problem
thank you for being so responsive ;)
and i look forward to the update
Thanks, cvxx7q, this is a Minecraft/Bukkit bug... my plugin gets no event for "thing in hand has changed" in that scenario. I think I can work around it though... expect v0.6 to be uploaded this weekend.
i swear i posted a bug report/comment :S
it was about.
hold torch in hand (to light area)
then open inventory
move the torches to another slot
then close inventory
when u walk away the light stays where you were
you must walk back to the centre of the light with a torch etc to remove it
great plugin of course ;)
finally... this plugin was recommeded for rpg server :D
Thank You!
It's been a while since I've seen plugins such as TorchLight (which is what I used) resurrected. Not only did you do this, but you re-wrote it. I appreciate such actions greatly, once again, thank you!
