Grief Prevention
AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.
Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention
I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

How can i do to let my mod see when a player place a sign? I tried the eavesdrop permission but it dowsn't function. Can u please tell me how to do this?
@Cammo009
No it isn't. Why would you want to prevent building, but then allow anyone who places a chest to build? That's almost the same as allowing everyone to build. Also you needn't involve worldguard - you could do what you're describing (the protection and permissions part) using an administrative land claim (/adminclaims).
@bobbensun
Make sure your server is up to date. Probably you're running an outdated 1.8 version, or 1.7.10. Rerun buildtools.jar to make sure you've got the latest 1.8. If that doesn't fix it, try disabling other plugins until it starts working - the last plugin you disabled is then the problem.
@bobbensun
It might be that another plugin is setting it to true after GP loads? Check worldguard settings. the newer releases allow everything but fire to spread in nether by default.
Help !!
i have set :
FireSpreads: false
FireDestroys: false
and ... fire still spreads and still destroys !!! D:
any ideas ?
hi grief provention, I have a question to ask.
On my survival server we have Worldguard and Grief Provention. Some of our players are building towns around and asking for claims. I would like to claim these towns with WorldGuard and stop players building in these towns, but set the creaters of the town to have building permissions, i also want to allow players to create claims in these towns (place Chest or gold shovel) that will override the non building of worldguard of the town and only allow them to build inside there claim in the towns. Is this possible?
Update 12.1 is here! GriefPrevention recently slipped to #2 on the Spigot site. Please help out by leaving a 5-star review. :) Thanks!
@Bobdanielt6
Oops, I keep forgetting to fix that. You can fix it in your messages.yml file.
@iTzDJ
Possible yes, but that wouldn't be an anti-grief feature, so I won't add it. Also it's almost impossible to get right - imagine trying to find a safe spot to teleport a player and all the things which could go wrong (solid blocks, monsters nearby, lava or other scary stuff below, too high in the air, other players pvp camping a known entry point...). It gets much harder in the nether, too, since there's a bedrock ceiling to think about and random pockets of lava in all the walls.
Would it be possible to add a command that allows you to teleport to your claim (something like /claimtp <claim number>) in a later update?
Thanks!
When /buyclaim is disabled it gives message and the word 'and' is misspelled. It says "Sorry, buying anhd selling claim blocks is disabled."
Update 12.0 is here! GriefPrevention recently slipped to #2 on the Spigot site. Please help out by leaving a 5-star review. :) Thanks!
@RainbowAdvenger
That's not an option currently. Chest is chosen because it's placed early after joining a server and a good indicator of a semi-permanent location - players usually don't place chests until they find a place they want to stay for a while, because it's a big pain to relocate a chest full of items. It's also a high value block because its full of stuff to be protected, and likely to be near other chests, so the claim around it will include those as well. What other item did you have in mind?
@Jikoo_K
Hrm... didn't know that. I will see if there's anything I can do via the bukkit api about players breaking lilly pads with boats.
@samueli5750
Can't help, the issue is in the furniture plugin. Please contact that dev / dev team.
@jahangir13
Even better advice.. {grin} after rereading what he was trying to accomplish (was thinking something entirely different.) ergenta, please disregard my advice to you. jahangir13 gave you the best answer for what you want.
@ergenta
/trust all or /trust public
@ergenta
You could create a worldguard region and set flags to allow public build rights but GP will respect the region and not allow claiming in it or to overlap into it.
How do I make it so admin claims gives permissions to everyone the ability to build by default? I want to claim with admin so people can't claim the area themselves.
Players can ram boats into lily pads inside of claims, breaking the pads. Not a huge concern, but a couple of my players have complained a little.
GriefPrevention with furniture ...the land owner can place the furniture at the claim place but the player who belongs to the same claim can build but can't place the furniture.
@angiebobb
Anybody know?
@bigscary
Neat idea about the cacti. I guess the point of this plugin is not to make roller coasters but if you have to give people /containertrust to let them ride a cart they can also take it. That's what I meant by too bad it was not separated to choose to allow public ride so people can ride even if they can not place or take the carts. However I found my solution using Autocarts plugin. Leave access and /containertrust off for everyone in your admin claim and people can just magic spawn a cart with a right click on a rail and it disappears when they jump out with a shift.
Is there any way to change the grief protection block from a chest to something else? I'm sorry if this was in the manual and I overlooked it, but I hope there is a way.
@Disorbs
Mobs do spawn in protected areas. Except for "creative mode" worlds (see GP config), GP does nothing with spawns.
@Bobcat00
Alright, I'll reduce the delay.
@Coolbannana44
You have to be running an up to date version of 1.8. Please see the giant block of bold text in the changelogs, which you neglected to read when it was last on your screen. Then update your server by re-running buildtools.jar.
@snablesnot
Placing a cart requires access trust (/accesstrust). Removing a cart might be theft (we don't know who it belongs to), so it's /containertrust. You can automatically make carts reclaimable by for example running them into a cactus, which turns them back into an item.
