Features
GlowTree allows you to turn glowstone into a renewable resource by growing it on trees. As of version 1.1 there are new tree types you can grow, some more exciting and dangerous than others...
Usage:
To grow trees that glow:
- Place a glowstone block in the ground
- Above the glowstone block place a dirt block
- Above the dirt block plant a tree
- As the tree grows it will sprout glowstone blocks
- The glowstone underneath the tree is consumed as it grows
- Use 4 seed blocks for a 2x2 tree such as Jungle, Super Spruce or Dark Oak.
- Substitute the Seed block specified for the other tree types to grow them.
- Trees take about a minute to bear fruit.

None at this time
Permissions
No permissions support at this time.
Configuration
These values take a boolean and enable or disable specific tree types. TRUE or FALSE.
- glow: Enable glowing trees.
- boom: Enable TNT trees.
- pumpkin: Enable Pumpkin trees.
- melon: Enable Melon trees.
- mob: Enable what may have been a bad decision on my part to include. Take a guess at what it does.
- cake: Enable Cake trees
- lantern: Enable Sea Lantern trees
These values specify the seed block that you place underneath the dirt underneath the tree. You may not reuse seed block types. Takes a value of type Material. See Material Types for your options.
- glowblock: Default is GLOWSTONE
- boomblock: Default is TNT
- pumpkinblock: Default is PUMPKIN
- melonblock: Default is MELON_BLOCK
- mobblock: Default is MOB_SPAWNER
- cakeblock: Default is CAKE_BLOCK
- lanternblock: Default is SEA_LANTERN
Installation:
Place GlowTree.jar in your plugins folder and reload the server.

Sorry I didn't update this sooner.. I did work after all. I came back on the next day and they had grown. I did check the config before I did the message.
I was a little surprised by the turn out though. I guess I was expecting all of the leaves to be replaced by the glowstone and not just the top of the wood.
Still I think the birch trees will look really good in a town like setting to replace street lamp / torch poles for villages...
I am going to see what other plugins you make :)

I just checked on my main server to confirm glowtree was working with 1.10.2. If you cant get glowing trees to grow, first i would check your config file and make sure all the tree types are enabled. They should be by default. Next I would check to make sure there isnt another mod interfering in some manner. Just pop open a new server with only glowtree, place glowstone, dirt and sapling then wait for it to grow. You can also test it on moosecraft.net, the plugin is up to date there.

I have it installed and my users can't get it to work. I do not see any errors in my console though.

I've only tested GlowTree on Bukkit 1.7.9-R0.1. Although Spigot is based on Bukkit, mods are not tested against both. I also will not be backporting GlowTree to previous versions of Bukkit. I'd wait for Spigot to catch up. You may also want to test it on a Bukkit server running 1.7.5. If it runs on the Bukkit server, then this mod may not be compatible with Spigot.

Posted Jun 23, 2014This doesn't appear to be working properly on Spigot for 1.7.5 - we managed to get one set of cakes to grow, but after that, trees didn't grow at all or just grew normally.
There's nothing in the console.

server renders during the day, you can't really tell that trees are glowing till night.
also important to note is that mob spawner trees don't start doing their thing till after nightfall. If you are setting up a surprise for someone, you may not want to grow the tree during the day.
