Standard Installation and Basic Test

Just drop the FoundDiamonds.jar in your plugins folder and reload!
If you're an OP, continue to the next step. If not, give yourself the permission fd.*
(You'll give normal players fd.broadcast for broadcasts, and fd.monitor for admin messages and light level monitoring.)
The best way to test the plugin and verify that it's working is to find some natural iron or coal and break it! You should see a message.
>Note: FoundDiamonds does not announce blocks that a player has placed (Unless an OP or a player with the fd.* permission uses /fd clearplaced after placing the block) Note: Only Players with fd.broadcast can see the broadcasts (this plugin requires permissions)

Troubleshooting
- Is the ore you broke a block that was placed by you or someone else. Do /fd clearplaced?
- Is the world you're breaking ores in listed in /fd world list?
- Are you using the latest version of FoundDiamonds? /fd version
- Are you using the CB build this was built against?
- Are you breaking ore in creative mode with creative mode disabled in the config?
- Did you make changes to the config and forget to do /fd reload?
If none of the above helped you, it's likely that you have found a bug. Please report the bug along with your config.yml and any errors in the console you may be receiving so I can look into it.

Posted Jan 27, 2014Same issue here. My members have the "fd.monitor" node and my staff have the "fd.broadcast" and "fd.admin" nodes. However it only announces when my staff have mined an ore.

I dont think you understood my issue, I dont mind that it broadcasts when a staff member finds diamond, the problem is that it does NOT broadcast when a regular member finds diamond.

I avoid giving any group the *.* permission. Sometimes permissions can enable things you don't necessarily want.

Yeah...I don't blame you. Originally this plugin didn't have permissions, but as time went on the demand grew more and more from various server admins to add them so they could have more fine-grained control. Ideally, if a player is OP, the plugin should work fine without any permissions at all due to this setting in the configuration file: Give OPs all permissions: true. However, that's only if they are OP. Setting up permissions is tedious, and there is most certainly an easier way to do it than what I am doing, but I am using PermissionsEX. I think it's outdated, but it works fine here.

Posted Jan 10, 2014Can you please provide examples of how to setup permissions using some of the popular permissions plugins out there? All I want to do is have all players on the server see when anyone finds ores, and there doesn't seem to be a simple way to do that. Everywhere it's mentioned, people just say "add fd.broadcast permissions to everyone" but I have no idea how to do that.

this is what i want: my staff to see when a regular player finds diamonds.
i have added fd.monitor to the regular players permissions i have added fd.* to the staff permissions
the result: my staff (including me and im op) cannot see when a regular player finds diamonds, but when someone from staff finds diamonds we staff see the message says that he found diamonds

It announces when people find pre-defined ore on your server. See the config and the permissions pages for exactly what can be customized and who/ how the notifications are displayed. I use it as anti xray. Since it announces when people find valuable ores I can tp to them vanished to see if they are mining legit.

Posted Dec 22, 2013Can anyone help me? I dont understand something! Im Owner and i want to see what everybody on my server is finding in the Mines. Im the only one whos supposed to see the Broadcast. But i only can see what my Admins are finding....
What am i doing wrong?
