quicksand.sign - Create Join Signs!
First you want to build an arena. A good size arena has a few different levels, but yours can have as many as you want. Your arena floor must consist of 2 layers: a layer of tnt, and a layer of sand or gravel on top. Make two or three more layers under the first one until you think your players will be satisfied with what you've made. When your arena is complete, add a layer of water under your bottom layer. When players fall in water, their game is over and they lose. After that is done, go to the top layer and run command /qs setspawn. This is where players will spawn when the game starts. To set the place where players go before and after the game, use command /qs setlobby. Now you're good to go! Use a Join Sign or use the join command to play the game! After the winner is announced, the arena will regenerate itself so you can play again! Happy running!
What is it?
Quicksand is a unique plugin based off of the popular minigame TNTRUN. The goal of the game is to run across a layer of sand and gravel without falling through the holes that appear. When players move, the blocks under them disappear - creating hazards in the arena floor. If a player falls through a hole, they move on to the next layer. The game continues until they fall through the last layer and into a pool of water. When players hit water, their game is over and they are taken out of the arena. The last player still playing is the winner!You may have seen people like SkyDoesMinecraft play TNTRUN, and now YOU can join in on the fun! quicksand.sign - Create Join Signs!
Join Signs
If you don't want your players using /qs join to join the game, you can use Join Signs. To make one, simply place a sign and make the first line say [Quicksand]. Second line should be the name of the arena you want players to join. Next, simply leave all other lines blank. You'll need permission quicksand.sign to make a Join Sign though. Your players don't need anything to use them.Setting up the game

Hi! Great plugin! Lately, it's been acting strange for me though. When a game starts it will repeat the same messages, and during the game countdown blocks are already falling. I've been using this plugin for a while now, and this is very strange to just suddenly occur.
How can I fix this?
Thanks! :)
anyone have/found an exceptionally good looking arena?
Could you add a option to give people money after they won/lost the game? That would be great, thanks :)
There is an issue when a player switches world (multiinv issue maybe) they lose their inventory - maybe waiting 2 seconds after teleporting before giving the player their inventory and such back?
Localization file?
@zezima700
I guess you are absolutely right. People should stay in the lobby until the game starts. I'll look into that.
This plugin is perfect but when I join the lobby and a second person joins the game starts instantly, can you make a thing so it will wait for one minute in the lobby so that other people can join. Keep up the good work! I now know that when you put the countdown to 60 you can wait 60 seconds in the arena for new people, but I would like to wait in the lobby, since that is what it is for
@jaakon2k
A config setting would be fantastic. Right now it is dropping people almost instantly.
@Sarham @jaakon2k
It was actually an old feature but after a few recodes it got taken off. jaakon recoded the game for us a bit and now the feature is back. As jaakon said, its to stop players from camping on the top layer and winning because of it.
It's a feature and should prevent camping or AFK-Player. The way it is implemented we can easily make it optional i.e. add a config setting to activate/deactivate.
When you try to create a Ticket, you get the following error: (You don't have the permission to access the requested resource. It is either read-protected or not readable by the server.)
I am not sure if this is a Bug or a feature... When the game starts and you have not moved, the floor falls out from under you again and again until you hit water. You can not stop in any way. No motion will still make the sand fall out from under you. I do not believe this was the case on the older versions. :)
The game is up and running on the games server at DecisiveCraft.TheWebGamer.Net if you wish to check it out.
Well, off to work on the new BackBone sign..
Hey Fire!
I am switching over to the new version today. Very excited! Thank you for the awesome update for QuickSand.
Could you add the dynamic signs?
Waiting for BukkitDev to approve v1.5.5 - Quicksand now supports Multiple Arenas, Custom Countdowns, Custom minimum-player count, and more!
@jaakon2k
Got your contributions - I'll look over 'em and see if I can use them in an update!
I've added support for multiple arenas, more options, a countdown timer and even more options ;)
Sources are checked in, I hope FireBreath15 likes them and publishes them.
I seem to be getting this glitch where people who join quicksand are set to fly mode via essentials, any assistance?
@KingSarkasmus87
Yes :)
Hi, I'm looking for winner rewards. Is anything planned in this direction? That would great.
Hi there, I've been experiencing this issue quite often. When 2 people join the quicksand arena and they use the /qs leave command ... no one can join the arena again even if all players have left. It keeps telling them that the arena is still in progress. Is there a way to stop the arena, disable it, enable it, or reset it? Thank you.
