EarthTime

EARTHTIME:

11-27-2019:  Just a brief update, the latest file release for 1.10 still works with up to 1.14.4 (what is/was current as of this update), and isn't anticipated to stop working unless a major change is made to Minecraft..  This small, lightweight utility doesn't really require any assets/dependencies from the game so game versioning doesn't really affect it.

9-3-16: Insignificant update to recompile with 1.10.2 API. Gearing up to finally return to this project and make the enhancements I always wanted to add.. When, I don't know, but getting the project transferred to a new machine with all new software was the first hurdle, lol :) Enjoy!
At it's simplest, this plugin just tells you what time it is.

The longer story goes like this...

Star Wars Galaxies used to have a (very) handy command by the same name, which did the same thing. For those users trapped in their virtual world, /earthtime was a blessing as it let us all know what time it was, important if you don't want to miss things, you know, in the real world!

I couldn't believe something so simple didn't exist for Minecraft, so I whipped this little plugin up. (Maybe I missed it, but all I could find were plugins to alter the in-game time, etc). Anyway...

If ya like it, enjoy it.. It's pretty much mt first Minecraft offering, and it's nothing to brag about, at all.. Just figured I'd put it up on here in case anyone else wants it.

Usage:
Couldn't be more simple.. Type /earthtime and this plugin will tell you what time it is. (where the server is located currently)

Issues / Known bugs:
None that I know of, but I'm completely new to this, lol. Works fine here. Should note the Bukkit submission would only let me select up to 1.7.2, and this plugin was, in fact created with the 1.7.9 API. If older versions are desired, I'm sure I could use an older API if necessary (not sure if they are backwards compatible at all, but I know there's nothing special that should make a difference).

To Do:
? - Add config option for server admin to specify a time zone (IE make it report Eastern Standard time, for instance)
? - Add some form of method for users to specify what tim zone they want displayed.
? - Look for a way to pull the time based on clients IP, or clients machine if possible instead of using servers location
Ensuring it continues to work with future versions of CraftBukkit a must.

Thanks To:
Unlucky4ever - For his basic tutorials which greatly aided in my making this basic plugin!
Various Java sites for tutorials and general info which guided me on the non-Bukkit portion of this plugin (figuring out how to get the time to be displayed in-game).
