Dynmap®
* MAIN SUPPORT IS NOW ON DISCORD *
For further discussion and announcements, see us on Reddit or Twitter.
A Google Maps-like map for your Minecraft server that can be viewed in a browser. Easy to set up when making use of Dynmap's integrated webserver which works out-of-the-box, while also available to be integrated into existing websites running on Apache and the like. Dynmap can render your worlds using different renderers, some suitable for performance, some for high detail.
Components allow you to add/remove functionality to make Dynmap suit your needs. Using the components Dynmap comes supplied with, there is support for chat balloons, web-to-game chat, and configurable markers, areas, and lines.
Features
- Highly configurable maps per world
- Real-time updates: maps are kept in sync with your world in real-time, updates are shown while your leave your browser open
- Players with their faces are visible on the map
- Chat messages are visible (as balloons or in a chatbox) on the map.
- Map viewers can chat to players in-game.
- Current Minecraft time is visible on the map.
- Current Minecraft weather is visible on the map.
- WorldGuard, Residence, Towny and Factions regions that can be visible on the map (through corresponding Dynmap-* plugins)
- Overall highly configurable and customizable.
Installation
Copy dynmap-*.jar into your plugins directory. If you are upgrading, delete the previous dynmap-*.jar - you do NOT need to delete the plugins/dynmap directory or its contents.
If you are running a separate webserver (like Apache) you may need to copy the files from 'plugins/dynmap/web/' to a directory in your http-root and follow this guide. When upgrading, make sure you also upgrade the copied files.
First time use
When you start CraftBukkit, you should be able to navigate to http://yourserverip:8123/ in your browser. In case you are running CraftBukkit on the PC you are currently working on, you can navigate to http://localhost:8123/. You should be able to see the players who are in-game. Note that the map is not yet rendered, therefore the background will be black.
If you are planning on using the HD renderer, now would be a good time to do so. Enable 'deftemplatesuffix: hires' in the top of configuration.txt. More information about deftemplatesuffix is available at Base plugin settings.
If you just want to see Dynmap work, use the following command in-game: /dynmap fullrender. The wiki contains more information about commands and permissions. The map should reveal itself gradually in the browser, give it some time. Progress messages indicate that Dynmap is working and will show when the render is completed.
Configuration
Dynmap Add-Ons:
Both to demonstrate the API, and to help manage the growth of this already-huge plugin, we've started producing additional plugins for Dynmap. Mods integrated with Dynmap:
The following mods are known to support dynmap integration without needing an add-on:
Also, for the best response to questions and such, please post comments to our main forum thread - http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1543523-dynmap-dynamic-web-based-maps-for-minecraft/. Once again, having more than one place just isn't helpful, and this is where the 'Dynmap Community' already operates.

Donations and Tips
Dynmap and my other mods and plugins have always been free, as I work on them as time permits and not as a job - the upside is that the price is good, the downside is they get the time I have left after working, taking care of my family, and other things!
I've set up a coffee-fund jar (I believe in the theory that software developers are machines that turn caffeine into code), for anyone who wants to throw in some tips! For Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/dynmap or for Ko-Fi https://ko-fi.com/michaelprimm
@CommanderNickels
just updated to 1.9 and i cant connect to dynmap from ip and from what i can tell its not compatible. how soon will there be an update.
i heavily rely on dynmap on my server and most of my players use it hope it will be updated soon.
Does it work in Minecraft 1.9?
Localhost works, but using my IP does not, please help?
One of the managers or authors can add my plugin to the list of plugins using Dynmap?

Thank you!
Hi
Is it possible to change the destination folder of my maps?
actually, they go into ./plugins/dynmap/ i'd prefer if they store in a new file in the root folder like "./dynmap"
it's for backup purposes, so i can unselect the folder before backuping because it has like a million files and the ftp client takes forever to download them all
thanks
Why u can't do all config in normal Yaml format ??
It's uncomfortable...
And a little questions:
1. How many RAM need at 1 player for correct server work with DynMap, without lags... And how many in total ??
If i, for example, activated 1 flat and surface World, with "deftemplatesuffix: hires"
approximately, at least...
2. Did that have affect on server performance, if many people will have open active dynmap in browser?
3. SQLite or MySQL better for performance, than filetree?? Filetree just take a lot of SSD space, and it's very hard to do backup from FTP with all this over100500 .png passages.
4. Did the process or map rendering will be more hard, if i set many map for one world? (2 maps in 2 different perspectives, for example)
For day/night map is not, right?? Only more place on SSD... When day - render process work for day map. When night - render switched on night map ?
Hey everyone, I just created a neat external tool for use with Dynmap. It's an ultra-lightweight crossplatform, binary webserver, so that you don't have to use Apache, IIS, or the built-in PHP webserver. On my system, it takes just under a megabyte and a half of RAM.
Check it out!

Hi! nice plugins
I have a question
What should I do if I want to see an [/say test] with dynamp?
@Kenthria
It's the main public directory of your webserver.
Is there a way to config to use a different Path? How do you change the default path /plugins/dynmap? If I use a MySQL database and store on a different drive would that work? I was running dynmap on the server hard drive (500Gb) flat file and it overfilled and corrupted the files my server. I was able to save with backups but having a hard time making it run from a different drive (1tb) just for dynmap. I'm using a MySQL for Coreprotect but on the same drive as the server folder. I'm using Wamp so I could reconfig the MySQL to run on the new drive. Will that work?
Server IP: Bullseye.ddns.net
Players become invisible aparently random in the dynmap, and dynmap doesn't memorize user credentials when login is set to required.

I will be needing all these elemnts in my new server machine ( http://www.spectra.com/ibm/ibm-system/46/17/index.htm ) Im excited to run it with latest updates.
it's a great plugin and uses very little in the way of resources, unfortunately it has introduced daily random reboots with no crash log to our server so looks like we are going to have to pull it (seems we aren't the only ones looking around a few forums)
Thanks you for do that for you
I have a Cauldron server. How do i see the livemap with that?
What is a http-root ?
@suitinacow
did you download from here like it says at the top of the page? jw

Umm... I actually just discussed that in my last post here, and I think it was discussed in a previous one just a few posts back. But anyways... You need to change the port number in your configuration file. You see... your host is a shared host, meaning several servers are on the same IP, this renders your server with a port of something like 25576 instead of 25565, which would be the default if you had your own IP. So that means that anyone who is using Dynmap on IP 67.175.97.42 and is using port 8123 and their Dynmap was up before yours, they got that port. You just need to go into Dynmap configuration and change the port to a higher port. Something like maybe 8136 for example. The chance of someone using that would be pretty slim unless your host really oversells their machines. Which is always possible if your going with a bad host.
