...fly to coordinates chosen via command.
...fly to players choosen via command(different permission-nodes for other types of travel).
...fly to your faction's home-position (Factions required)
...fly to your town's spawn (Towny required)
...fly to a home-position which has been set by this player earlier. - Allows admins to set stations and limit the mounting of dragons to these locations (or a specified radius around it).
- Possibility to require a special item for players to use the plugin (e.g. a dragon-egg)
- Making signs which automatically mount a player and bring them to the written destination on the sign.
- Permissions-Support
- Support of all Economy-Plugins supported by Vault (Vault is required for that)!
Admins can set different prices for all ways of travel! - Admins can choose in the config whether dragons of this plugin should destroy blocks or if any dragons should break blocks when touching.
- All messages are fully customizable! Default messages.yml is English, but we provide German and French language files as well.
Due to the fact that things can change rapidly in this project, I stopped maintaining instructions on the plugin and other information like a list of commands/permissions in the forums, on this page etc. and decided to create a central location where you can always find all information up-to-date: The DragonTravel-Wiki.
Please use this wiki and report all mistakes you find in there and avoid posting questions on topics like commands/permissions/sign-creation etc., which are answered in the wiki, in the comments.
The questions and requests posted in the comments are repeating and there are some questions we answer at least once per week, so we decided to write down some of those Frequently Asked Questions.
Please read the questions below and see if you can find your question there, this really saves us time we can then spend on the development of DragonTravel.
- Is it possible to change the speed the dragon's wings are flapping?
- Is it possible to remove the dragon's health-bar?
- Is it possible to control the dragon manually?
- Is it possible to move the rider closer to the dragon to avoid him flying above it?
- DragonTravel does not start, what can be the problem?
You can find the answers to those questions in the FAQ!
Please read the paragraph above before posting any questions!
Please, update to 1.9.4
@stevenpferdberg
Hey mate, those small "flashes" are somehow the "small brothers" of the serious issue we had in the first inofficial release for 1.9. The problem is that the way passengers are handled in MC/CB was changed in 1.9 and this is not as easy to address as I had hoped.
I know about the problem, but I cannot say a time we will be able to fix it.
Nevertheless, thanks for the feedback and I hope you enjoy the plugin. :)
Wow man, thanks so much for your hard work on this! Just updated my server to Spigot 1.9.2 and installed the newest version of DragonTravel and flights work smoothly. The wing flapping speed is much better now than before, love it!
Every second or so during a flight I get a flash frame that looks as if I'm below the dragon. No mechanical problem though, just this short optical flash. Is there a way around this already? Not a serious or pressing issue though.
Thumbs up for the update dude! Great to see DragonTravel in action in 1.9! Cheers!
@Layania @Neosacrifice
I still need an answer to my questions since I was not able to reproduce the problem. It seems like you do not move when starting a travel, but after about one second you move to the dragon and from then on move with it as expected. I tried is multiple times with different distances, different coordinates etc., but I did not have such a problem.
If you give me more details, I can try to reproduce it again. :)
@Layania
I actually get the same issue with normal spigot 1.9.2.
@Cattraknoff
I did the Towny support for this plugin and I could certainly add in support to prevent players from traveling into Towny regions. PM me and remind me about the denying Travel in, on, or through Towny towns and I'll add it and put through a pull request to Phiwa when it's done.
@Cattraknoff
Cannot promise anything, but I will take a look on it. :)
@Layania
Oh, okay. Any other things you noticed? Any pattern like special places it happend or always after x blocks etc.?
Strange bug on paperspigot 1.9.2, sometimes player is lock on dragon (travel station to station), dragon don't move anymore. Need to logout ! No console message.
Hi I very much like the concept of this plugin particularly in allowing people to travel to specified coordinates since I tend to generally limit teleporting to be between point a and point b (from npc town to npc town or from npc town to player's town spawn, etc.) and I want to include free dragon travel as an ingame purchasable perk for like a million currency (which is a lot on my server for sure, no one has it yet after almost two months the closest guy has like 600k).
Anyway my one hold-up with this is that it'll allow players to circumvent defenses. As such I would really appreciate it if you would be able to add a check that would prevent players from using the coordinates to go to someone else's town (I use towny so I prefer for that). If you can do this I would certainly adopt your plugin on my server and I will also throw a donation your way to support your development.
Just uploaded v01.004.01 which contains a workaround for the strange passenger movement in CB 1.9.X and should work with CB 1.9-R0.1 and CB 1.9.2-R0.1.
This version is not final and does not solve the problem completely, but can be used in production. :)
Please be aware of the fact that movement is not quite as smooth as it was in earlier versions, but it should work out until we find a better solution.
Thanks for your patience and enjoy your journeys. :)
Still working on a version which works with 1.9/1.9.2 without movement problems. I guess I found some kind of workaround, but it needs further testing before I can release a version based on it.
I'm sorry for the delay, but I do not want to release an untested version for production.
So stay tuned and thanks for your patience! :)
@DrkMatr1984
Oh, okay. Thanks in advance! :)
@Phiwa
I believe this is in part due to some bug in 1.9 when a character is riding any mob. I'm having the same problem with DeadHorses and riding zombie/skeleton horses, a plugin I sometimes update and send pull requests thru to. I'll do some testing around and if I come up with a solution I can let you know how I did it.
Good luck dude! Thanks for all your hard work so far! We've been using DragonTravel on our server for a year now, and it's become one of the most used and praised features of our world. Cheers from Cornucopia!
@Phiwa
Thanks to update, I'm waiting your next release to update my 1.9 server :)
UPDATE
I finally had the possibility to get my equipment here and from today on have access to the internet again - so far so good.
Bad news: Even after a hard debugging session, I was not able to solve the problem about the horrible performance of travels from the perspective of the rider (as far as I could reproduce, other players see a fluent movement). Flights seem to work much better, but also have some "lag-like" issues every few seconds.
Problem is that I did not change anything in the part of the code which is responsible for movement, so exactly the same code working perfectly well in CB1.8 (apart from the known issues of flying back-/sidewards) causes those strange issues in CB 1.9. I'll keep working on the issue and try to find a solution for it, but in the meantime I will provide you with the link to a version which can be used for testing.
WARNING: I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT TO USE THIS VERSION IN PRODUCTION ENVIRONMENTS SINCE IT MIGHT CAUSE SERIOUS PROBLEMS!

Sorry for the long delay with the update and thanks for your patience!
I'll do my best to find a better solution as soon as possible!
Welcome to the new place. Good luck with the update.
Can you please update to 1.9 :) Thanks! Btw 10x for this plugin :P
Good to hear you're working on it!
Hope you moved without any troubles.
This is worth waiting for. I think you are doing a great job.
