DragonTravel
It offers server-admins the possibility to add a new outstanding way of travel to their servers.
More videos on DragonTravel (including tutorials)
Features:
- Allows admins to set destinations for the dragons.
- Allows players with the specific permission to summon and mount a dragon and...
...fly flights which consists out of waypoints(as many as you like)
...fly to destinations which have been set by an admin before.
...fly to coordinates chosen via command.
...fly to players choosen via command(different permission-nodes for other types of travel).
...fly to your faction's home-position (Factions required)
...fly to your town's spawn (Towny required)
...fly to a home-position which has been set by this player earlier. - Allows admins to set stations and limit the mounting of dragons to these locations (or a specified radius around it).
- Possibility to require a special item for players to use the plugin (e.g. a dragon-egg)
- Making signs which automatically mount a player and bring them to the written destination on the sign.
- Permissions-Support
- Support of all Economy-Plugins supported by Vault (Vault is required for that)!
Admins can set different prices for all ways of travel! - Admins can choose in the config whether dragons of this plugin should destroy blocks or if any dragons should break blocks when touching.
- All messages are fully customizable! Default messages.yml is English, but we provide German and French language files as well.
Due to the fact that things can change rapidly in this project, I stopped maintaining instructions on the plugin and other information like a list of commands/permissions in the forums, on this page etc. and decided to create a central location where you can always find all information up-to-date: The DragonTravel-Wiki.
Please use this wiki and report all mistakes you find in there and avoid posting questions on topics like commands/permissions/sign-creation etc., which are answered in the wiki, in the comments.
The questions and requests posted in the comments are repeating and there are some questions we answer at least once per week, so we decided to write down some of those Frequently Asked Questions.
Please read the questions below and see if you can find your question there, this really saves us time we can then spend on the development of DragonTravel.
- Is it possible to change the speed the dragon's wings are flapping?
- Is it possible to remove the dragon's health-bar?
- Is it possible to control the dragon manually?
- Is it possible to move the rider closer to the dragon to avoid him flying above it?
- DragonTravel does not start, what can be the problem?
You can find the answers to those questions in the FAQ!
Please read the paragraph above before posting any questions!
We already got some reports about that via ticket. The problem occurs when mounting a dragon inside a region (WorldGuard, Factions, ...) which prevents mob-spawning and we cannot do anything about it...
im having a weird problem. When i mount a dragon, there is no dragon lol. When i fly to a player, nothing happends, then i randomly teleport to what im guessing is the invisible dragon flying towards the player i wanted to fly to, but when i teleported, i fell out of the world, so i used spout flight to go back up and then when i got back up like 10 seconds later it teleported me again to where the player was (i think? i never actually saw the player). Im using CB 1744 and latest Dragon Rider plugin. No errors in console. I cant get that dragon to show up yet it says i mounted it.
Could you perhaps add the means to add a song to play via spout users while riding dragon? My server will be using mostly spout very soon and this would be completely epic to have some music playing while riding the dragon.
@cvxx7q
The problem I have with it is that we after doing that need to get everything into a smooth direction, so if there is a high mountain just in front of the dragon (let's say 40 blocks higher than the highstest block in your current chunk, the dragon would have to rise vertically to get high enough and that would turn the normal travel we got at the moment into annoying ups and downs... ;)
@Phiwa
yeha i know all that lol, i jsut meant what path finding was needed, you mean the advanced kind (perhaps 3D Pathfinding) (probably good idea to differentiate the two somehow) i think u shud set the height to say 20 blocks (example, everyone chill ;) ) and then the dragon always stays that high above but pre-emptively say... if the height raises 3 blocks ahead then rise 20 blocks now instead of when you get there ;) im sure in abstract its easy, and of course in code its alot of work but i think it will pay off, or CRUDE!: asess the highest block of the next chunk and fly above that (again, CRUDE!) ;)
EDIT: err rise 23... lol fence post problem anyone? (anyone who misses the hint its a programmers mistake commonly made when u forget to account for 0 as a value itself)
@cvxx7q
Finding the shortest way is no problem, but finding the shortest way and avoiding crashes with mountains is quite some work. That's why we have the option "TravelHeight". Set it high enough and you do not have any problems... ;)
also @ everyone speed of 0.8 (if my calculations are correct) is probably optimal because its 1 chunk per sec (speed) and anything over that is pretty heavy on a server even the 1.0 can make u fly faster than the chunks arrive and u get that stuck bouncing effect from nether portals, anything lower is far less strain and better for server stability, however it is slow and u may receive complaints (what a relaxing cruise is bad!?) haha
@Phiwa
what kind of path finding?, do you mean object avoidance or finding the fastest route?
@Phiwa
SGS 1, Android 2.3.6 (SGS 2 can get a leaked ICS tho!) as for opera yeah its highest rated i bet (never checked), but i was using it years ago and when they were beta testing Opera Mobile, it has come a LONG! way andgive it a try sometime, if u hate it then, yeha move along, but well worth a try and do hit the settings section first!
@Diffedge
already possible with signs, please elaborate if im wrongly understanding you
Love The idea!
I would be interested if you are planning on setting up an option to build a landing pad perse?
So a person could just go to the location and flip a switch of some sort to activate the dragon travel. Would this be a possibility?
@LordBoos
I already saw that Opera has the best rating, but I love Mozilla Firefox and cannot simply ignore the possibility to have it on my mobile even though its rating is crap... ;) Will try Opera tomorrow...
If we want to implement path-finding we are going to have no RL for some weeks I guess, but feel free to create a ticket for it. ;)
@Phiwa Just install Opera Mobile on your Galaxy S II. It's best browser ever!
WoW this is epic! But one suggestion: Can you make that dragon does not fly through trees/mountains/ground? I don't think it will be easy, maybe not even possible. Just suggestion. :-)
Maybe I simply do not know how to hover without clicking... ;)
@Phiwa
I do not have such issues with my wonderfull Windows Phone 7, heheheh....
@cvxx7q
Yeah, it's the Android-default browser on my Samsung Galaxy SII. ;) It is really annoying if you want to reply to someone because you cannot hover the buttons without clicking them, so I click somewhere and hope it is the right one. :P Sometimes I'm in the Report-section after that... ;)
@Phiwa
ha! must be some crappy OS or browser ;P
I thought of that as well. Think I'll do that as soon as I'm at home, don't like creating links on my mobile, it always fails in some way... ;)
@Phiwa
probably stick that at top of the main page in some big coloured letters ;)
and link to V10Lator's page ;)
Come on guys, this was proposed multiple times now and we won't do that! Use RideThaDragon by V10lator by that...
