This is the BukkitDev plugin information page for Demigods, a full RPG experience designed to bring an endgame to survival/PvP servers. Not to be confused with other RPG plugins that focus on skills and classes alone--this adds culture and conflict that will keep players coming back after they've maxed out their other levels and found all the diamond deposits in a 50 km radius. Demigods is unique in its system of rewarding players for both adventuring (tributes) and conquering (PvP) with a wide array of fun and useful skills. |
To install, simply place the plugin jar file in your plugins folder and run the server. That's it. Everything else is handled automatically. |
Key features of this plugin include:
...and much more! More documentation: · Commands · Norse Edition Permissions · Legacy Permissions · Config File · Player Debug |

Well, you can create an altar by placing an emerald block, using /dg admin wand, and then right clicking on the emerald block.
Also, I would not recommend using Demigods 3 on a production server while it is in beta (we still make changes to it which can break saves and such).
So the altars are randomly generated structures, like villages, and my server has as its main player world a pre-generated map, which players can't leave... the server won't be made public for ages -still too many builds to complete- but I'd like to know if there's any way to place altars manually. Currently I just use command blocks to warp people to a different world where spawn in an enclosed altar and players have no perms, but I first tried cutting and pasting altars into the main world using World Edit, and adjusting the locations in the demigods .yml files accordingly, only to find that the plugin somehow always reverts the files back to their previous state time I edit them. Can I turn this off, or should I stick to the warps?
(BTW I got the dg3.jar by accidentally typing your server's name into my web browser, forgetting that I wasn't actually playing minecraft at the time)
@xdazza7
I'm not really sure what to tell you, other than to set that to false and see what happens.

ChrisCole42 is correct (for the most part) about configuing deities. Demigods 3, however, has a new character system that allows people to create multiple characters.
This is probably a good time to annouce that we've opened up our beta server (with a beta, non-stable version of the plugin) to everyone! beta.demigodsrpg.com.
We're accepting feedback on everything except the actual deity abilities (still designing them, they're the easiest part believe it or not).
NOTE: If you are having trouble connecting to the beta server, or somehow find yourself on our DG2 server, the direct address to the server is: direct.demigodsrpg.com:32256.
I believe deity configuration is available in the SUPER AWESOME HIGHLY ANTICIPATED DEMIGODS 3 UPDATE, coming soon. As for limiting the number off deities, I think you can do it with the deity-specific permission nodes here
I don't suppose there will ever be a way to configure deity names and what they give to the players?... That'd make this a really awesome plugin to have it be customizable like that... Sadly, with the current setup, I can't use this since my server has it's own storyline... And the Greek gods aren't at all involved in it.
And I haven't seen this... but is there a way to actually limit Deity amount?... Like if one would want only one deity per character.
@xdazza7
It's the use_new_pvp_zones setting in Demigods' config.yml.
@HmmmQuestionMark
How would i find this out I personally just installed the world guard plugin and modified some things like tnt in the config files.
@xdazza7
Are you using the dynamic worldguard setting, or the legacy worldguard setting?
@xdazza7
Really? My problem is the opposite.... I'm having trouble preventing people from fighting in my safe zones as well as being able to break things in world guard regions.. hmmm
A problem with this plugin is you can't strike people when in world guard but if you are out of world guard area you can attack players in that.
@Kirstiana
I'm not really sure either. I'll look into it, but it might not be fixable in DG2.
@HmmmQuestionMark
Ah no, I don't want to disable it. I want them to be able to use the power, but when they use it in my Worldguard protected areas, they're still able to wash away stuff like torches and carpeting, though everything else seems to be okay and protected. Its completely ignoring my worldguard flags. Not sure if this is something that must be fixed on your end or theirs.
@Kirstiana
You could pretty much disable it entierly using the config option (can't remember it exactly right now). I might be understanding wrong, but do you want to disable it or change it somehow?
Hey HmmmQuestionMark, it's me again :D So far since you fixed my last bug, we've been really enjoying this plugin. It seems to be the hit of the server so far... however I'm having trouble keeping people from using Drown in carpeted areas and torches and washing them away lol. Not really a huge problem.. but I just don't want it to be used as grief.
@xdazza7
I'll see if I can fix the passives.
@HmmmQuestionMark
Is there a way to allow the commands though and if i disabled the world would that work. Also if you disable the worlds they still have their passives such as fall damage not been taken or certain mobs not attacking you.
@xdazza7
Interesting idea, but we do not have this feature, and we don't plan to do something like this in the near future. The way we block worlds is by simply ignoring all events and commands given in a disabled world, we'd have to totally redo disabled worlds in order to get this working.
Hi, I want my users to use the commands in a world but not be able to cast their abilities in that world is it possible.
