Death and Rebirth
The plugin is not going to be continued on it's own, you'll find a rewritten and much better version in
Death and Rebirth gives Minecraft a new death system. After dying a player needs to be resurrected which can be done by other players or by using a shrine.
Note: I'm (G4meM0ment) student and need money to finish my driving license. So if you want I would add special features and ideas for you to the plugin for a little donation. PM me!

Wouldn't it be cool, that when entering ghost mode, the textures changes to a gray and white texture. I think it might be possible to do with spoutcraft-client installed

hey great plugin, i have a request however... any way you could make is so (an option in config file) when you die it spawns a chest with your items in it at that location. so that way you have to return to the location you died (as a ghost) to reclaim your items(after you res at the death marker sign) and if you res at a shrine you lose everything. :P

Thanks for the reply, themuCkk, but in my last post I expressed that the spawning issue was resolved by enabling GRAVE_SIGNS. My problem now is that ghosts can right click grave-signs to be resurrected. Do you have an idea what could be causing that?

Hum, seems like there is a bug if you have corpse spawning turned on. If your players spawn at their beds it's most likely another plugin which causes that. Most of those plugins have the option to turn that feature off. But it can be hard to find out which one is causing it ;).

Actually the default option is that ghosts spawn at the nearest shrine or at the shrine where they bound their soul, so it's like you described it. But you have the possibility to turn CORPSE_SPAWNING to true if you want it the other way around.
I've spent some more time fiddling with the config this morning and, having set GRAVE_SIGNS to true, ghosts now spawn at their corpse. Additionally, ghosts no longer rebirth on interaction with most objects. However, rebirth is now occurring when ghosts right click a grave-sign. I was hoping to have ghosts wander back to a shrine to be reborn (this still works but there's little point as a player can resurrect himself at his grave) or else be resurrected by a player.
Thoughts?
Also, Aapple_Slayer, I believe that functionality is already in this plugin.
This is one of the most interesting Plugins I have seen. The one question i had though, is about resurrecting... why did you have players spawn at where they died and go to the Shrines?
I only ask this question because most MMOs that have resurrecting like WoW and Rift, have you spawn at the nearest Shrine and the either Res there, or have to walk as a ghost to find your body. In the future I would maybe like to see this happen instead (I understand coding is hard, trust me I'm going to school as a programmer, so i would get why you couldn't). Maybe I could be allowed to get a copy of the code and do my own research and practice on doing this and all credit for the mod would still go to you of course!

I love this plugin, it's perfect for my private RPG server, but I'm having some trouble with it. I'm sure the problem is something on my part so I was wondering if anyone could point out what I might have done wrong.
The symptoms so far are as such: I have CORPSE_SPAWNING set to true but ghosts spawn at their beds and I have BLOCK_GHOST_INTERACTION set to false and when a ghost interacts with an object they are reborn on the spot..
I have no idea what could be causing this. Thoughts?

What I mean is I have a display name changer (dispnamechanger) and when they become ghosts their name turns to whatever I have in the config, and it doesn't revert back sometimes to their dispnamechanger name

@dothackking If you mean that they keep their normal names just leave GHOST_NAME blank. If you don't want any displayname, that's not possible at the moment.

Not working properly on #1240. At startup loads fine, but in-game when I die I respawn normally. A fix would be great Thanks!
Is there any way to keep them from having a name when theyr'e ghost?
Love this plugin! There is one thing I haven't figured out though, is there anyway to restrict the commands they can use when they are in ghost form?

Yeah it would be great if I could spawn a corpse. Unfortunately that seems not to be possible at the moment. I already talked to other developers too.

Also, can't wait until you make real graves... I saw you that plan to make real corpse marks? You should make it configurable so we can choose if its the grave will contain's the player inventory (chest) or a corpse.. or just nothing..
