DeadMansChest
Ever go out mining or fall into a pit of lava, or somehow die? Ever wish there was an easier way to find your stuff or that it stuck around longer after death? Introducing Dead Man's Chest! With non-destructive glowstone towers (configurable) with a configurable height so you can easily find your stuff! Best of all the glowstone doesn't drop anything when mined (default), so you don't have to worry about players dying just to get free glowstone! This is the official continuation of the PlayerChestDeath plugin on the forum. I have contacted the original author by email and have official approval to do whatever I want with this plugin.

Permissions (Defaults to everyone, unless otherwise noted)
- deadmanschest.freechest - If you have the option enabled that players must have a chest in their inventory to get a death chest, this one exempts this group from that requirement (Defaults to OPs only)
- deadmanschest.chest - Allows you to have a death chest.
- deadmanschest.drops - Allows anything that doesn't fit in the chest to drop naturally.
- deadmanschest.message - Announce this player's death.
- deadmanschest.lock - If LWC is enabled this player can get a locked chest.
- deadmanschest.beacon - Allows a beacon tower to be built for this player.
- deadmanschest.nodelete - Exempts this player's chests from being deleted. (Defaults to OPs only if no permissions detected)
- deadmanschest.loot - Allows the player to loot locked death chests not belonging to that player. (Defaults to OPs only)
- deadmanschest.doublechest - Allows the player to have a doublechest death chest. (Defaults to everyone)

Any chance in having a way to lock your chests with lockette instead of LWC?

I'll see what I can do about the aromor being auto equipped when looting the chest.
I'll also see about fixing the issue about looting from the other chest in a double chest.

Lol, oops, thanks for catching the typo in the description. Also, chests are supposed to spawn at the bottom. Why would you want to have to build a huge ladder just to get to your chest?
It would be nice if you were wearing armor if it would put that on you first when auto-looting. It seems like it just dumps out on the ground if your inventory was otherwise full. Also, it seems you can't autoloot from the right half when it's a double-chest.
I think you have made a typo on one of you permissions:
deasmanschest.freechest
Also for some strange reason my chests are spawning at the bottom of the towers and not on top!

Enable ChestLoot and then tell players to sneak hit their chests when on faction land.
Can you please make this factions compatible? when someone dies in someone else's faction land, neither plays can open the chest :l

No chest is created if you fall into the void.

That's been a problem for quite some time. I really need to take a look at why it isn't saving/loading the death chests and fix it. (the death chests not disappearing should only happen after a server reboot)
Is this an abandoned project?
Could you make it so that if they have no items then no chest will spawn I am getting empty chest all over the place :)

I still have the nightmare problem of chests never disappearing. I don't know why. It has never worked. Please fix it. So many people complaining.

I just noticed that if you die next to an existing double chest it makes a triple chest. If you die next to three existing double chests it just makes an unholy mess. The chests still act like a double chests so you still only see a double chest dialogue but you can sometimes access the one of the existing chests by opening the chest that deployed when you died. This causes problems for my chest protection mod. I know cenotaph had a check to see if you died next to a chest and if you did it wouldn't drop a chest for you, is there any way to add this? I'm using Bukkit 1.45 R.1 Beta #2483 and version 0.7 of this mod.
Are there any plans to allow for custom death messages? I was using DeathTpPlus and they let you define messages for each type of death but I don't think that guy is playing anymore so I'm looking for a replacement. I could look for a death message plugin to compliment this plugin as an alternative. If you know of one, feel free to recommend :)

Could you add the option to put the stuff in a special previously defined chest (maybe marked with a sign) instead of a new chest at the point of death? Another nice option to choose would be that it would be put into the enderchest (until it is full)

Just updated the plugin all the way just for you. :D It should support any permissions system, without needing vault integration (because basically all the permissions systems are SuperPerms compatible), and I fixed the LWC integration as well. Why would I use Vault? If the permission's plugin does not support bukkit's ingrained "player.has("permission.node") I'm not going to support it. Adding Vault as a dependency just adds too much bulk. I'll see about getting a new version out with LWC 4 support soon. Also, by default everyone has that node, so you need to deny it to them with a "negative" permission.
