Just drag and drop DeadChest.jar to your plugins file and launch your server. In the plugin/deadchest folder you will find 3 files :
-
config.yml : File to edit the configuration of the plugin (you should open it and put the params you want !)
-
locale.yml : Langage file, english by default, you can edit this file to the langage you want
-
chestData.yml : Do not open or edit this file, it's here that all data about the plugin is stored.
-
deadchest.log : Track all Deadchest events here.
Please read the FAQ if you have any trouble. If you find any issue, please report it on Github or Discord
You will find below the list of all my plugins. They are all updated with the latest version and try to offer you the best experience possible.
- SpawnerSilk : Mine spawners with silk touch.
- DeadChest : Keep your inventory in a chest when you die
- Cryweather : Manage time easily

The armorstand remains invisible, invisible and not destructible in creative exterior. Nobody needs this.

I don't understand your issue. If you have any issue with armor stand. Use the command /dc repair
In reply to crylonz:
Ah no thanks, I dont use it anymore.
Hello,
I just updated to 2.4 and I have again the chest bug that appears on the surface. I will try to do some tests but version 2.3 had fixed this error.
In reply to ixeygrek:
There is no change in the way chests appear between version 2.3 and 2.4
In reply to crylonz:
I had a player yesterday who had his chest on the surface (I checked by myself) and last night another one died and his chest was well underground, so wait and see...
In reply to ixeygrek:
Yes, keep me informed !
It would be nice to have the updates here too
In reply to Forge_User_66025067:
About which update are you talking about ?
In reply to crylonz:
DeadChest 2.5? The update handling the error in the deadchest on start
In reply to Forge_User_66025067:
Have you download the plugin from this page ? I'm the owner only from this dead chest. The next version will be not the 2.5 but the 2.4. I'm currently working on it.
If you have an error on startup, try to remove your chestData.yml, that should correct your issue.
did you remove the spigot plugin?
In reply to llwinchester_hots:
I'm not the owner of the plugin with the same name on Spigot.
In reply to crylonz:
Someone copied ur post and posted it there. He had the same plugin with version 2.5
Was called Chimichala
In reply to Forge_User_66025067:
Hum.. strange. I'm only developping this plugin on bukkit/curseforge. So if you download a plugin with the same name but with another author name, it's not from me. I'm working alone.
If the player falls into the void or dies in the lava, how to recover the items?
In reply to llwinchester_hots:
If the player falls into the void, , no chest in generated, this feature in planned for a future update.
If player dies in lava, a chest will be generate at the position he dies, so you need to find a way to remove lava around the chest ! :)
The patch version 2.2 you made fixed the spawning chest problem underground; however, I am now seeing a "Loading" holographic display for those chests. It doesn't occur elsewhere including the nether though.
In reply to ice_drake1:
Noted ! Thanks for your feedback again ! I will patch it in the next version :)
In reply to crylonz:
Found another problem. I noticed an occurrence where the chest spawning location in the nether has somehow ended up above bedrock, not the other times I tested it though. It makes the chest impossible to be reached. Also, apparently the previous problem came back. Sometimes, the chest appears above the ground instead of underground.
Unrelated, I am running into a compatibility bug for this plugin with two other plugins called Citizens 2 and Sentinel. The two plugins allow me to create fighting NPCs that its type is a player except it isn't controlled by any real player. When it dies, it ends up creating a chest for it. This is fine with me; however, I run into null exception errors if I restarted the server with these chests intact (in other words, they hasn't expired or disappeared yet). I figured the reason is that NPCs aren't really players.
