What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.use essentials groupmanager
2.put a rank requirement on the sign using @<rank>
3.be that rank, give the rank op, all permissions whatever you want it doesnt work

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
i expect for the rank to be able to use the sign and rank up but everyone any rank even op gets that the sign cant socialize with me

What version of the product are you using?

Do you have an error log of what happened?
just says cant socialize

Although I can fix this, unless I do some ugly coding, I will also break PermissionsEx and maybe some other plugins (in terms of group checks returning true even if you only inherit a group).

As the issue more lies with Vault, I've sent them a ticket to see whether it should be us or them that changes anything.

I'm not sure why this was changed but it makes sense that a person has permission to click a sign if the @group inherits the rights.

Did you consider using a permission like commandsigns.group.lizards? Then if the commandsigns.group.lizards is set for a group or player they can click @lizards signs.
