Combat Tag
This plugin is unsupported!!! Use CombatTagPlus instead.
The essential PvP plugin that prevents hit-n-quit players. No longer will the fun of killing other players be ruined!
Combat tag is a plugin that can prevent your players from pvp logging, period.
Reason why we developed this:
When your players are in the heat of battle, sometimes someone gets cold feet, and logs out while in combat!
This means that the player can no longer be harmed, because they are offline.
This can be EXTREMELY irritating to other players, because the person they were attacking, is now safe and keeps all of their items.
How it works:
Combat tag makes it impossible to pvp log!
When a player is struck by another player, combat tag logs it in its log.
If one of the players logs off within 10 seconds (time can be changed) of being struck, combat tag comes to play.
Combat tag makes it so that if the player logs off within the ten second field, he spawns an NPC with the same inventory/health as him.
The player that was attacking then can attack the NPC, and the same is done to the logged off player.
If the player kills the NPC, the player that logged off in combat is also killed, and drops everything in their inventory.
If the player causes damage to the NPC, the player that is logged off also takes the damage (including armor).

About Incompatibilities:
As with any plugin where fake players exist, there will be places where other plugins do not take into account the possibility of fake players and may have unexpected results. I can't change how other plugins handle these NPCs, so probably a good bet if you're getting random PvPLogger files is to change the npc name to "player." That way the player and the NPC will share the same files.
Known Incompatibilities:
- Heroes in both instakill and NPC mode - No duplication of items, but players will respawn in their old location with the health they logged out at
- ModifyWorld - Npcs will not take damage

Version 3.6.0 adds support for minecraft 1.8.
I will be providing support for this update because cheddar262 is inactive.
@cheddar262
Combat tag reloaded isn't ready for use so I have updated combat tag to 1.8. Unlike combat tag reloaded, this is just update and adds no new features.
See pull request #42
I have a version available on my ci server here
I am willing to update combat tag to the newest bukkit version until I get combat tag reloaded ready for use.
As an official post, I will be porting Combat Tag to Sponge as it is released. I quite enjoy coding in it at the moment. Hopefully it continues to be that way and maybe I'll see some of you over there in the future.
@cheddar262
Thanks for the response, I hope to see you return, maybe even on spigot ;)
As a final comment, I may attempt to switch over to Sponge when it is finally released in a fuller version, but that is yet to be decided.
@KevinEssence
As a first response, yes, this plugin is inactive, I suggest anyone who wants an updated version that has approximately the same code to go on over to Combat Tag Reloaded found here produced by Techcable: http://dev.bukkit.org/bukkit-plugins/combat-tag-reloaded/ . I may eventually restart my updating, but yes, I took the fact that craftbukkit is currently DMCA'd to stop producing combat tag.
Secondly, I was not "clearly online" on the 10th of December when you messaged me. I haven't logged in much in the past couple of weeks.
Thirdly, all tickets should be directed to Techcable at the link above at this point in time. I am not addressing issues with the current combat tag especially tickets about its compatibility with any update past 1.7.9. I'll generally state, that, if you're on any version of spigot that is past the point where they started pushing out patches for the old spigot jar, then this version of combat tag will not be supported.
This project appears inactive. It's been quite a while since the 1.8 update and no word from developer, even tried pming him when he was clearly online. The ticket remains unresponded too.
@live4redline
Thanks for making a ticket, been waiting too, even tried pming developer but no response, getting a bit worried.
Tried to update my CombatTag plugin to the newest version, but will not load at startup. So made a ticket and waiting!
I have a request I really think you should add, and I think this would give people / servers using this a better way to stop PvP Logging, and sorts of mishaps.
1 - An option to make the players armor, and username show up. A players armor should show up on the PvP Logged players body, so people know what kind of armor they are in (obviously), how strong they are, and an idea of what they have.
The username to show up, I've used this plugin on my server for a while, and I have death-bans, so players would see a PvP Logged player, and kill them, not knowing who they are, if they are team or not, or even if they are in their faction (Maybe keep the players name in tab list so Factions denies the pvp between the players in the current faction).
2 - Making the players NPC stay online for an additional 10 seconds, stopping the player from logging out right after his tag is over (Usually how people still end up PvP logging). To clarify, when the player is NOT in combat, his / her NPC will stay online for 10 second (configurable).
If the player IS on combat, same as always, the NPC will stay online, and then once the tag is over, for the other 10 additional seconds, (So the player can't just log off at 1 second left).
I really hope you consider adding these, as I think they could come in very handy. If you don't want these features permanent if you ever consider adding them, you can always add a togglable feature, could you not?
Update in progress?
I can't seem to disable the coords when someone is pvp logging, or just disable the whole darn message. Also why doesn't the attacker get combattagged and another thing: the npcs don't despawn, I tried every setting there is. Can't seem to find any explanation for the config either.

@BeYondZer
This version of Combat Tag doesn't support spigot 1.8. I have made a new plugin called Combat Tag Reloaded that works with spigot 1.8 and 1.7.10. It also has socreboards, and anti-safezoning.
Hi,
I am am getting this error on Spigot 1.8
I am updating this plugin.
Please note that this currently requires citizens 2 and I don't think the AI works. Please report issues here.

Anyway to disable combat logger names in tab list?
As of this moment, I will no longer be developing Combat Tag. The current developments with bukkit and the inability to fix certain game-breaking issues on my end have caused it to become a waste of my time at this moment.
If you wish to take over the Combat Tag bukkitdev page, please PM me. I only request that you have developed at least one plugin beforehand. Feel free to fork and do whatever you want with the code that's on github even if you aren't wanting to be the new developer.
Before I leave, I am changing the license of the code. It will be CC0, which means, worldwide, anyone is allowed to use the code contained in this plugin for whatever purpose you want. As it was originally distributed under the "I don't care" license, there isn't any change except that CC0 is a more legal definition that is recognized worldwide under Creative Commons. Public Domain changes between countries, so the worldwide standardized version (CC0) is better.

Thanks you.
@cheddar262
All right, thanks!

The Arena crash is not my problem. Tell the creator of the plugin to update their import path.
