Description
Tired of adding people to your yaml files? So was I, so I created this little plugin.
It provides a basic class system based on ranks, i.e. you have multiple classes that are divided into ranks.
You can allow players to rank themselves up/down or just keep that for yourself, the admins, or another plugin e.g. CommandSigns.
Features
- Add users to classes
- Rank them up/down inside a Class tree
- Enter partial username - works for online users!
- Allow players to rank up/down themselves (or even others)
- Take fee for rankup
- Customize class display colors
- Customize playername and world color in messages
- Customize classes and ranks by ops
Options
- Display class changes in public
- Rank in multiple worlds (use all as world)
- Require items (reagents) for ranking (since v0.1.3.3)
- Require experience for ranking (since v0.2.0)
For version 1.7.x and above
- Vault for economy and permissions
Older version before 1.7
- BOSEconomy 7.2
- Essentials Economy
- iConomy 5
- iConomy 6
- MultiCurrency
- Vault for economy and permissions
@SLiPCoR
17:36:50 [INFO] Player 3LPlay has chosen a class, now has the rank Wanderer
Nothing :(
@3LPlay
hmm can you check for errors e.g. "could not add player to group" around the time you say that command?
@SLiPCoR
let me know if there is something you need :)
@3LPlay
oh there you go, the actual problem is that the adding to the class does not work, my plugin just thinks so :/
let me check on pex, might be an issue with it
@SLiPCoR
I used /class <classname> and it says i'm in the class, but if then try /rankup it says i'm not in a class?
@3LPlay
The permissisions.yml does not count for being in a class :)
Choose a class with /class [classname]
i have configured all right, but if i try to do /rankup It says you don't have a class - i'm using pex and in the permissions.yml it says i'm in the class.
@Ali_b_123
This functionality is the exact purpose it is made for :) If that does not work, it's your perms plugin... hehe.
Check if "onlyoneclass: true" is set like this in the config, then it should be like that. It should put you into the upper rank after removing you out of the old one.
@SLiPCoR
What I was wondering is, is there anyway to make this plugin so when they choose a class, their permissions group changes? That's what I am looking for as I currently have configured different permissions groups for jobs i.e hunter and that hunter group can use commands that others can't. Is there a way round this?
@pikby
Hmm check on a plugin that lets you buy permissions - there is one called BuyPerms or something along that line - then you can let people buy the permission classranks.rank.self
HI, im making a server that has mutiple classes and well i was looking for a plugin to use for it. And well what i found is that i need a mixture of both this plugin and permisions 3. I dont know what to do as i want to be able to have the people buy up there ranks using items but also be able to change the rank names from say warrior III to elite warrior. Also i want some of the very high up ones to be able to use some of the essentials commands. I really would like some ideas/help as i am farely new to this level of plugins.
@teriblebun
slipcor - server ip?
SLiPCor join my server what is your IGN
@Ali_b_123
Hmm Permissions 3.x - you can set prefixes in the INFO block... its something like this:
and it should be [prefix]username[suffix]
Im not sure what plugin to use with outdated permissions - try mChat, nChat, it should work :)
@SLiPCoR
Hey there,
I am currently building an RPG server and love your plugin! I was just wondering if there was any way that, when you choose your class, that your prefix can change? I.E If a player were to enter my server, they choose their class e.g. Hunter and the first level of that is 'Apprentice Hunter'. I have all different Permissions groups for these and the prefix is different but yeah :) So if you could tell me that would be great :D
EDIT: Btw I'm using Permissions 3.x :3
@teriblebun
also!? omg - only use one! permissions system :/
for bPermissions I would propose to use mChat + bPermissions - mChat is quite slim, use the latest, it's called mChatSuite (dev version but totally stable!)
Then add to the bPermissions file:
like you add a node to a group, you can add the following:
- prefix.100.&cAdmin
this would be a (red) admin, with priority 100 - so if oyu have 4 groups, the highest number gets displayed, e.g.
- prefix.0.New
- prefix.50.&9Mod
and so on :) add each prefix to a group that should have this [] thing
i also have bpermissions but i dont get were to type slipcor: info: prefix: '[Admin]' suffix: ''
@teriblebun
well in Permissions 3.1.6 you can only set the prefix in the info block under a player. Please look up how to do it, I didnt use it for months. It is roughly like this:
i have Permissions 3.1.6 (Yeti)
@kiflic
me no have hamachi
@teriblebun
nope, your ECONOMY is iConomy. Permissions system might be one of the following:
PermissionsEx, Permissions, bPermissions, GroupManager, Essentials, PermissionsBukkit
