Looks awesome, but it doesn't seem to work on the 1.6.2 update. An update would be awesome.
can you add the feature to set a default channel when joining the server so when i type /global , i can write in the global chat but when i reconnect i should write in the local chat and have to retype /global again
@LuizGu
you can override any permissions in what ever permissions plugin you use by explicitly setting them to false. You can even deny commands to OPs that way too.
is there a way for admins to see all of the channels?
more specifically I have it set up so my server's chat acts on a per world basis. however, I'd like admins to be able to see all messages sent in all worlds (and maybe toggle which worlds they can see or talk in. Does something like this exist in this plugin, if not can the developer add this feature? Other than that this plugin seems to be working perfectly.
How do I deny people to send global messagens if "livechat.global.send" is true by default?
I want to use this plugin, I really do. It's nice, seemingly lightweight, and efficient. But for the love of god, I cannot find documentation anywhere, here or on the internet in general, for doing two things:
1. Actually creating prefixes with PermissionsBukkit, which has no native prefix support in its config.yml
2. Using the censorship list, which comes with no formatting example
I need help, badly, and this page should really have this sort of information.
I took my time to test this plugin out in my server, and I must say I enjoyed it to the point till I discovered that I can't create my own channel :P. Is it just me? Or you actually can't create a new channel?
What I expected the plugin to do:
1. Use "Global" as main chat.
2. Use "Derp" as secondary chat for another language, when you type /derp. It would be a secondary "Global" except, it's not a default chat. I'd like people speaking in another language to use a secondary chat, and people in Global to not see what's going on in secondary chat.
Continued... I also thought that I'm able to make 2 groups for Builder rank in GroupManager, so the 2 groups would be "Builder" and "Builder-derp", people who I have promoted to "Builder-derp" will have access to speak in /Derp channel. In that way the regular Builder rank can't see the /Derp chat.
What I described, is it possible? I also like this plugin more than many others out there, but I'm confused about the limitation or it's just me being stupid :)
Thanks a lot if you actually read my post, and I really expect to get a reply from the great developers of this plugin (please).
Does the censoring even work? and if yes how to add it to the .yml
@x3nec
Well I like to use plugins that have source in case I need to add something specific that probably would never get added since there isn't enough demand. I've been looking for a good chat plugin that is open source. I really like this one but I'd like to make some changes to it. One big reason, I'd like to change prefixes to custom ones, I made my own title plugin and it doesn't seem to work with this (works with essentialschat but I like this one better). It would be nice to have some more channels as well (like a donator only chat), possibly create your own group chats, I tried HeroChat for that but didn't like it much.
@baffle
Any particular reason? :)
Any chance you would put up the source code for the plugin?
@x3nec
I know that they do the same thing, I just like your plugin! :D I have vault installed, and I disabled all that chats I am not using, like you suggested..to no avail. So, what I think may be the problem is that in "format: '&7[&6Global&7] %DISPLAYNAME%&7: &r%MSG%' " it makes every person's chat &r, which is white. Is there anyway I can make it so that the chat is group based?
@XoBROSEIDONoX
hey, just to be clear, essentialschat and live chat do the same thing, so will likely clash. If you mean the chat is all white, make sure you have vault installed and check the config to disable any chats that you don't have the plugin for (faction chat and plotme chat) if still nothing, post your config in a ticket. :)
Hey, I'm using Pex and EssentialsChat for my chat, and every group has a certain chat color, but when I add the plugin it makes everybody's chat white....is there a easy fix for this that I'm just not seeing or something that I can do? If so, could you please comment how, thanks in advance! :D
Next update has a fix to set the permission to the one I told you all for faction chats. It's in the version 3.4, awaiting approval.
@Nosfeato
Are you still getting the issue of no talking if you're in a faction?
I fixed mine by deleting the plugin entirely, every ounce of it I removed. .jar and plugin folder :3 Reloaded my server and it works like a beaut.
have you find any solutions x3nec?
Double checked the config, the channel is enabled and the admins say they can use it as well as the admin channel.
@Crazyguy332
Double check the channel is enabled in the config? :D
The plugin works great, but somewhere along the line I must have missed a permission, I gave my admins the livechat.admin permission and gave my moderators the livechat.staff.send and livechat.staff.receive commands. The admins are able to do their tasks perfectly, the players haven't given me any complaints with the global, local, map and private chats. But for some strange reason the moderators are unable to send, receive or access the staffchat by any means, I have tried virtually every combination of the word staff (staff, 'staff', <staff>, Staff, etc.) but to no avail, nor can I get it to work with any other group or individual. I might end up giving the moderators access to the livechat.admin permission but that could be dangerous. Thanks for looking at this, its not a major concern though
