Describe to us the issue that you're having:

I am trying to add permissions to groups in the groups.yml. When I finished, I restarted the server, and it gave me errors. (See below)

Which steps will reproduce this problem?:
1) Install the plugin
2) Add Essentials permissions to any group (e.g. essentials.afk)
3) Save the file
4) Restart the server
5) Watch console for errors
....

There is an mistake in line 20 column 1 of your permission files.

Delete Line and write it in again. Maybe you have used there some Tabs ?
