BetterCombat
Combat in minecraft has always been little more then -who can click the fastest- so I'm bringing an end to click spamming with BetterCombat. With this plugin your sword or fists have to "recharge" after every hit. Also hits that aren't fully charged will not damage a player that is blocking at all. These tweaks to combat seem very simple but they have a huge effect to the gameplay. Click spamming is no longer the best way to win a fight and blocking finally has a use.

- Configurable time for weapons to charge
- When not fully charged the amount of damage is equal to the percentage charged
- When not fully charged attacks can be blocked
- Works for all non-ranged weapons (including fists)
- More powerful attacks to compensate slower hitting

Can somebody confirm this plugin is still working? Been a long ass time since an update.
It really is great, I still use it and have never considered removing it. :D
This is perhaps the first plugin any competent PvP server should get, even before all those other plugins like Vault and CommandBook. xD
But really, this is one of the best PvP balancing plugins I have ever seen, and the concept is so simple. It renders brute force useless and makes fighting much more strategic, while teaching (younger) players that life isn't all about charge tactics.

Aww Man, I Used Nodus With Tp Killing And Had Aimbot! LOL To Bad I Quit Gleecraft, It was nice tho..
There is a strange glitch when attacking all mobs. For some reason, they are not effected by melee damage whatsoever. They will take damage from bows though. This problem is immediately fixed when BetterCombat is unloaded.
Something to look into? There were no errors or anything. Hard to pin down.

I doubt that's caused by my plugin, I don't do anything with the inventory.
players arent losing items on death
Hello, I just wanted to start off by saying this is an awesome plugin. Haven't seen anything like this before. I have been looking for a plugin like this for a while and i was wondering if it would be possible to add some more features to it. Could you add an option that allows you to set the cooldown time for full charged for specific tools. For instance i could make the cooldown time of a wooden sword less then a diamond sword. I think this would be an amazing addition. Also, i know this is a bit of a large request but it i think another awesome addition would be so it is able to set different cooldowns for different permission groups such as pex. I know that last one would be a bit much to ask for but i think the first one would be an amazing addition to the plugin. Thank you so much for your work and Cheers.

Looking at bukkit code I think the method to display potion effects in completely client side. I'll experiment with it but I think for players with lag their arm would start swinging before the potion activates since the animation is client side. If it doesn't I'll add it as an option. Not sure when I'll have time for this because Autorank is my main priority right now (and school ofc :P )
Hey I noticed that when u use invisibility potion there are less particles (they are not annyoing). Is it possible to reduce particles while using SlowDigging effect?

Well, now u have fire instead of swirly things :P I would add slow digging potion effect as configureable option.

The swirly things you get around you from potions are obnoxious :P
If there was a way to turn those off it would be a cool idea.

could there be the damage modifier for each type of weapon/item? for instance, i would like the axes have a longer charge time but a stronger hit and such

Great to see.. with the damage modifier it would be perfectly alright, however my server will have some epic boss battles where one could only survive by swinging their sword constantly ;)
