Intro

BattleChestEvent was originally created for a fun event on my server. You can place a chest anywhere in the world and open an automated event where people will have to get to the chest and they can take the items out from inside of it. It is easy to set up and has simple commands that are easy to use and understand.

Commands

Command	Description	Node
/bce set	Set the location of a chest. It will put all the items in your inventory into the chest and place it at the location of your feet	battlechestevent.admin.edit
/bce delete	Deletes a specific chest from the list of chests	battlechestevent.admin.edit
/bce alter	Alters a chest by moving it's location or changing the items in the chest	battlechestevent.admin.edit
/bce open	Opens a chest event	battlechestevent.admin.run
/bce start	Forces the chest event to start even if the timer is not up	battlechestevent.admin.run
/bce stop	Stops an open chest event or cancels a running chest event	battlechestevent.admin.run
/bce list	Lists all the chests	battlechestevent.admin.list

Help

You can ask me questions in real time on irc when I'm on. You can usually find me in #battleplugins, #bukkit, or #bukkitdev in irc.esper.net. I will also answer any Bukkit related questions that may not have to do with BattleChestEvent specifically. It is also perfectly fine to come online to chat.

Another location where I can be found would be the Battlecraftpvp.net teamspeak. Just enter the IP battlecraftpvp.net and send a PM to "Ducks" .. If I don't reply in either location it would mean I am not at my computer. At that point you should just shoot me a private message.

Information Collection

To see what statistics this plugin may collect and send out from your server. This allows certain functionality to be included to talk with the http:battleplugins.com website for pasting config files by in game command, and in the future potentially error logs. Alongside this functionality certain statistics are also collected.

Plugin name and version
Bukkit version
Server name, online player count, and online mode
OS name, version, and number of cores
Java version

The statistics can be seen here http:battleplugins.com/statistics.

This can be disabled in BattlePluginsAPI/config.yml

when i type bce set, all that happens is it says /bce in the chat window and nothing happens......

Can you place them in WorldGuarded regions with them be able to open them?

Idea! This could easily be used with a combination of other custom plugins for a HungerGames server. I'm so coming here once I get mine in the making. Thanks for making this plugin. : P

Edit: Could you find a way to make a command where you can set a BCE chest where an existing chest is? I don't want all my chests facing in one direction when they're created (since the plugin will place the item ID of a chest, but it'd be impossible to specify the direction unless there was more to the command).

Auto regeneration can be done using BattleScheduler

http://dev.bukkit.org/server-mods/battlescheduler/

PvP can be done with WorldGuard... I can't make an area PvP allow on a no-pvp server.

What he means is, he has PvP disabled on his server. He wants the chest to auto generate as well by them selves. And when they do there will be a radius of PvP enabled... I guess :D

Well, your server makes you have to set the chest, the other one i seen automatically places somewhere random.

Woops, i'm sorry. I wasn't clear with what i was saying. I meant for BCE in a 50 block radius of the chest pvp is enabled. and players can fight if there are more than one person there!

lDucks, you think you can add a addition to the plugins. In like a set radius set in the config, pvp is enabled. Players can battle it out! Basically that simple.

I have to get fraps working then I can make a video, but let me try to explain it thoroughly..

You enter /bce set name

What that command does is it adds a chest with everything in your inventory to a list at the location you're standing. So when you type /bce open name 1 it will open check name in one minute.

Hey, I dont think I am doing this correctly. I use the command /bce set, i try to add the location, then when that didn't work I assumed it was something I had to name, "/bce set 1" that didnt work either. While I was messing with the commands, I was also trying them with and without a previously placed chest. Yet either way I wasn't successful.

Maybe a simple tutorial or walkthrough or even an example would greatly help me. I would love to use your plugin, its so raw, yet so simple. It'd be great for what I'm trying to create on my server.

Sometimes when you think you've explained it perfectly, there will always be a few people that will ask for a layout. Nothing against you or the plugin, I just dont understand how to use the commands.

Is it possible to create a chest that will remain persistently? It would reset/unlock at specified time? This would be awesome for my PvP arena

I do have something that forces it to end after a five minutes of no chest activity so I will need to look into it.
