Animal Plague
Animal Plague
Description
For any survival server it takes only a few days for player to get comfy with there giant animal farms providing everything they need. As an admin myself I found this quite frustrating. Isn't there a way to keep player working hard even after they have made a few farms and animal pens? Animal Plague is the answer! The idea is to create a way to naturally limit the amount of animals a player can have at once. This causes them to work harder because they don't have as many resources. As an added bonus, Animal Plague also helps control lag caused by oversized animal farms! Animal Plague can be configured in many different ways to create a plague with very different effects!
Features
- Limit the size of animal farms!
- Make the game more challenging!
- The Plague can spread!
- Plague split into three configurable stages!
- Configurable cure item!
- Make Animal Flesh Decay!
- Allow certain animals to be immune!
Configuration
you can change...
- The time before the plague is first noticeable.
- The time it takes to kill the infected animal.
- The chance to infect other animals.
- The radius that the plague can spread out from the infected animal.
- The amount of animals in an area before a plague will appear.
- The chance of immune animals appearing.
- The cure item for the plague.
Future Changes
Set which animals can be infected.(Done)Add a configurable cure item.(Done)Add Immunity.(Done)- Allows players to experience plague effects by coming in contact with plague animals.
Allow animals to drop rotten flesh if they die from the plague.(Done)More plague effects.(Done)- Whatever recommendations you have!

Projects
Currently, I run my own little network called "The Terra Network." It isn't anything fancy right now but I'm always messing around on there and working on my own server ideas. IP: mc-tn.net
I am also looking for fun little plugin projects to keep me busy. If you have any ideas send me a PM!

If you like my work feel free to support me. I love making plugins but this is a great way to motivate me to make certain changes or updates! Thanks for using my plugins and being awesome!
@smallpen
Try putting MUSHROOMCOW all capitals.
Tends to be case sensitive with these things more times than not, and that is the big different I notice between this entry and the others.
@sakura_blades
I use spawn egg to product many MushroomCow in an area . However , I even try to use other spawn egg to product animals like chicken or cow ! Those animals will get sick , but I can't let mushroomcow get sick !
Here is my configuration : link
@smallpen
Again, are you breeding these or just leading them into the area? Are you waiting a little bit afterwards to see if anything happens?
I know this plugin can support this animals as well as more mobs than what are listed in it's default file. I use this on my server and cover ocelot and wolf too...
Please pastebin your configuration file for me, and tell me if you are breeding or leading them into the area. Because that matters..
@sakura_blades
OK, I try "Mushroom_Cow" or "MushroomCow" in list , and still can't work ! Maybe this plugin just support those which it default in list !
Here is a list of entities -or- mobs that could be listed to "get sick" with this plugin.
- PigZombie
- Skeleton
- Zombie
- Spider
- LavaSlime
- Witch
- Wolf
- Creeper
- Ghast
- Giant
- EnderDragon
- WitherBoss
- Bat
- MushroomCow
- Cow
- Sheep
- Pig
- Chicken
- SnowMan
- Ozelot
- EntityHorse
- CaveSpider
- SilverFish
- Blaze
- Enderman
- Slime
- Squid
- VillagerGolem
- WitherSkeleton
I might suggest to the Dev that these be listed somewhere on the page so that they're readily available to anyone wishing to add to their list of possible illness entities.
@smallpen
Did you reach 10 from breeding them or 10 by leading them? Plague starts from breeding. And you don't need an "s" and on the end of "Mooshroom". Minecraft doesn't know what a "Mooshrooms" is, only "Mooshroom" and it may even need to be "Mushroom_Cow" or "MushroomCow" let me find that page of Bukkit Entities...
@sakura_blades
So I add "MOOSHROOMS" in PlagueAnimals section , right ? I setup ""AnimalAmount : 10 " ! But in a chunk have more than 10 mooshrooms still alive , can't get sick !
@Ajaxan
That would be lovely. :D If you need any suggestions for that, feel free to send me a PM or something. :P I've an army of friends who play Minecraft and love these sort of things. xD
@smallpen
Mushrooms are plants, not Animals and wouldn't fit into this plugin.
Do you mean Mooshrooms? Cause you can add those...
@sakura_blades
Yes ! I want mushrooms can get sick , too ! Please add it ~
@sakura_blades
I do remember which plugin you were talking about. I actually used that plugin once on one of my own servers. I'll think about pursuing a version of animal plague meant to control crops and plant growth. If I do create it I'll create a separate plugin as the idea is pretty different than what the name "Animal Plague" suggests.
@smallpen
You want mushrooms to get sick?
@u7uu7u7
I think another plugin for limiting plant growth or something would be nice. Used to be one once upon a time, not sure if it's still active. Would RNG if a plant lived or died, and only grew if it wasnt' in a "bad biome". So you could set it so wheat wouldn't grow in a desert. ;P
I think a remake of something like this would be nice.
Can add mushroom in animal list ?
I love this plugin.
Idea - plague for agriculture.
I'd like to know if this plugin is going to be in continued development as well, I love this plugin!
It adds realism to my server while keeping those nasty animal lag machines known as close quarter pens to a minimum!
Your server seems to be offline. Has development on this plugin stopped? I'm interested in using this plugin.
Thanks,
LHammonds
Love the mod. Could a variable be added for infection proximity? I would like to make this 4 or 5 to make a benefit for having large fields with widely spaced animals. If a plague does break out, maybe only a cluster of animals in the field would die (depending on how far they wander while sick), but if the animal population is not too dense, many animals may survive. This would reward spacious animal pens as well as the current mode rewarding various, spaced smaller pens.
Alrighty, I'm back! I've been rather busy lately but now that my schedule is returning to normal I will go ahead and start pushing out new updates!
@sakura_blades
I'll look into what is causing this and get it fixed. Thanks for letting me know.
@Nickbbeezy
I'm currently working on this. Hopefully I'll have it done in a few days.
@O_oGuru
The plugin isn't far enough along at this point to warrant dev builds. I test them all out first to make sure there are no obvious errors but basically every released version should be treated as a Beta/Dev build.
We're able to set tame-able mobs like Wolves and Ocelots to the configuration file for this, but it doesn't appear to actually kill off the tamed Wolves from what I've seen.
I had a wolf get infected off some cows and pigs and didn't noticed. I made my way into my well separated Sheep barn where they were all perfectly healthy, but my wolf being infected got quite a few of them sick just being near them.
It'd be nice if the tamed wolves and ocelot also died off from this as well, I had enabled them in the config hoping to restrict the pack sizes of tame crazy players. o.o
I'd love to see some updates as well.
I hate to be one of those people... But, is there a plan to update this to a 1.7 build any time soon?
It's working flawlessly, so there is no real reason I ask other than it appears we are having some issues on my server with disconnects, ticks and memory leaks, and I'm hoping to get all plugins compiled with/against 1.7 Craft Bukkit to eliminate problems.
