Overview

Debuff The PVP Login debuffs players with a configurable duration of Slowness who login within a configurable radius of blocks of another player to discourage immediate PVP. It also gives all players who login a Blindness effect of a set amount of seconds to prevent immediate location of objects.

Features

• Discourages PVP upon immediate login by inflicting Slowness III upon players who login close to another player
• Allows other nearby players to prepare for battle or to run away
• Notifies nearby players of people logging in close to them
• Gives a short (on default, 2 seconds) of Blindness to players to prevent the immediate location of objects while making the world render seem seamless
• Configurable potion lengths and player detection radius

Potential Applications

Debuff The PVP Login is designed for PVP servers with a larger map, or those servers who have a problem with players logging out to hide from an incoming player, then logging back in to quickly "snipe" the player before they have a chance to get ready. Server administrators could also use the plugin for custom long-term gamemodes, such as those that heavily rely on PVP for a balanced gamemode. The potential applications for this plugin are endless!

Configuration

slowness_potion_duration: <ticks>

• The duration of the slowness potion effect given if a player logs in within a set radius of blocks from a player.

blindness_potion_duration: <ticks>

• The duration of the blindness potion effect given to all players on login. (Recommended to be short, but just long enough for the nearby chunks to load)

player_detection_radius: <number>

• The radius to look around a player that just logged in to check for other nearby players. If a player is found to be in this radius, the plugin will inflict the slowness potion effect on them.
