Vortex
IMPORTANT: This project is still under development. Do not expect downloads anytime soon
Vortex greatly utilises the Falling Block Mechanics (as seen in action by watching Sand fall) to bring you a diverse host of natural disasters and new, interesting weather to Minecraft. Vortex will make your world more interesting and unique!
- Tornado: Spinning whirlwinds of fury, composed of flying blocks picked up by its wind power. The Tornado will also function as a Water Spout if it encounters any large body of water
- Black Hole: Engulfing any blocks, entities and players that happen to get in its way. The Black Hole occurs above the ground, eventually imploding on itself and releasing the entities under its strong gravitational influence
- Whirlpool: A spinning vortex occurring only in ocean biomes, the Whirlpool brings excitement and danger to normally unspirited boat trips
- Tsunami: A huge wave of destruction, also created using falling blocks
- Volcano: Pretty self explanatory really. Possibly may include terrain generation for new worlds
- Earthquake: Blocks fly everywhere whilst the ground underneath you shakes. Crevices will also form during an earthquake
- Wind: Blocks will be randomly picked up and carried elsewhere according to the current wind direction
More to come!
Vortex will come with an auto-updater to save you, as a server owner, from continually checking this page for new files. It simply connects to dev.bukkit.org and compares the versions of available files.
(The following stuff is currently not valid as there are no files)
If you do not wish for Vortex to perform this check, navigate to the Configuration File (config.yml) in the Vortex directory of your plugins folder and change "check-for-updates" and "auto-update" to "false". The first value disables the version comparison altogether and the second updates the plugin automatically if new files are detected.
Metrics is used to collect plugin statistics. Only data such as plugin version and players online is collected. If you do not wish for this data to be collected, disable it in the 'Plugin Metrics' folder of your 'plugins' directory.

@DSH105 Anything for developers soon (source code)?
Looks epic can't wait
Thats good news :D
@Hellsword143 Quite well :).
Hi dsh just wanted to know how the development of the plugin is going
@Hellsword143 Definitely. I already have WorldGuard recognised in the plugin so that I can implement it when I get up to that stage.
Will it support world guard protection and will you be able to disable certain weather types?
Thanks for your time
@seiterseiter Still heavy under development. It's a lot of math! D:
Just wow! nice
