Head Namer
Effortlessly edit the owners of player skulls with Head Namer!
Changing the owners of player heads, introduced in Minecraft 1.4, is a breeze with Head Namer. Absolutely unboalted, complete with permissions support, and with a drop 'n go-type functionality, using Head Namer couldn't be easier.
Features:
- Change the owner of any player-head
- If a head is not in the player's hand, a new one can be spawned.
- No config, ultra-easy usage, and no setup required
- Permissions support for both renaming and spawning new heads
Usage:
- /headnamer or /hn - Plugin info, help, and version number
- /headnamer [Name] or /hn [Name] - Rename a player-head(s) in your hand. If you are not holding a head, a new one will be spawned, provided you have the right permissions.
Permissions:
- headnamer.* - Gives holder access every Head Namer permission
- headnamer.name - Allows holder to rename a player head(s) in their hand
- headnamer.spawnnewitem - If a rename is attempted but the holder is not holding a player head, a new one will be spawned with the desired name.
If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions at all, please don't hesitate to speak your mind. There's not much else I really aim to add to this plugin, but by all means, I'd love to hear whatever anyone has to say about it.

What @boxtropica pointed out is spot-on. Quite obviously dozens of other plugins provide Head Namer's functionality, but the best thing about Head Namer is that it's dead-simple, and was actually one of the first three head-related plugins to hit BukkitDev when heads were first introduced
--
that means Head Namer existed before that essentials feature did.@boxtropica
Thanks for your support, I'm glad your users are finding Head Namer useful!
@bloodless2010
This is ideal for ease of use. (The players like that)
If you use essentials (most likely you do) then just do /i playerhead 1 player:PLAYERNAME and then bam, no need for an extra plugin you guys are just wasting RAM
@Creeper5589
It works perfectly fine for me

if you tell me what version of CraftBukkit you're running, what version your client is, if you have the correct permissions or not, and if you're holding the right type of head, I could help you figure out what's going on.The plugin does not work for me, if i do /hn [Player Name] it will NOT change the name, the plugin thinks that the head is the right one but it is the right one, tell me how to fix it, and i will let my brother try it, i hope you can help with it, thanks a lot!
@JacksonML
Are you sure? It still works for me, even on the newest iteration of CraftBukkit. If /hn works though, I hope it can suffice for your needs for the time being.
/headnamer doesn't seem to work bu /hn does. Just thought I'd point this out.
@miner2557
Nice job, I'd actually be interested to see how you did it too.
I just submitted version 1.1 for approval, and so it should be approved in the next few hours. Sorry for the delay, the hand-issue I had earlier was simply because of a nasty little misplaced-semicolon. Updating it literally took about 5 minutes, whereas it took me about 3 hours to find the that semicolon was the only problem.
Hope you guys enjoy it, and thanks for sticking with me!
Edit: There we are, version 1.1 has been approved. If anyone has any suggestions or wants something particular to be added, let me know.
I have my own working version.... I'll be very interested to compare them and see how you did it..
@miner2557
@Orepros
So sorry you two and everyone who has been unable to rename heads to your heart's content because of my inactivity. I've spent the past 45 minutes changing the plugin over to the new system of item data, and it's nearly finished. I just haven't gotten renaming items in players' hands working just right just yet, and I want it to work before I release version 1.1.
So sorry again for the delay, I will submit version 1.1 tomorrow.
Do we need an update for 1.4.6 because for me it doesn't work :/
I managed to make a working replica of the plugin for my server but it is very temperamental since it only works with name that have a letter at the beginning of it, however I think i might leave it to you to update it.
@miner2557
Oh yes, thank for you telling me, I'll update this soon.
@travja
Yep, the new methods make it much simpler and will remove the Craftbukkit dependency.
@miner2557
He is using CraftItemStack when that is now just an extension of ItemStack, in the new API you can just use ItemMeta to edit the name, lore, and whatever else. So ItemMeta.setDisplayName(string); would set the name to the given string.
I was looking at the source for this plugin and noticed that you have an error that stops the ability of use in 1.4.6
I cannot remember where it was but you might want to review the code
:)
Great plugin man, very useful Donator feature in my opinion.
@Grafe
Thank you! Always great to hear people like what I make! :)
nice little plugin, thx
@ThisUsernameIsMine
Lol, awesome, thanks for your support! If you have any questions or suggestions, don't hesitate to ask.
@devilquak
FYI: The number of downloads you see are all from me, because i like the plugin... so much :D
