Grief Prevention

AUTOMATICALLY PREVENTS ALL FORMS OF GRIEF, including build/break, theft, spam, fire, spawn camping, lava dumping, chat trolling, advertising and more, so you don't have to undo any damage after the fact. It even teaches players how to use it so you don't have to! No configuration or database required. Stop responding to grief and prevent it instead. Grief Prevention will solve your grief problems without requiring you to manage a roster of trained administrators, juggle 10 different anti-grief plugins, take away cool standard game features, publish a training manual / tutorial for players, or add explanatory signs to your world. You can also choose to integrate PvP elements into build design to finally get a PvP experience befitting a sandbox game about creative building.

Grief Prevention stops grief before it starts automatically without any effort from administrators, and with very little (self service) effort from players. Solve all your grief problems with a single download, no database, and no configuration step.

Please Vote for Grief Prevention

I've also posted Grief Prevention on the Spigot site, where plugins are ranked based on reviews. If you love GP, please take a couple of minutes to give GP your rating and leave a short review. Better rating and positive reviews will help server owners who look for plugins on the Spigot site make the safe choice (GP) instead of downloading something sketchy or incomplete. :) Thanks so much for all your support!

Admins/ops are being blocked by spam filter, regardless of whatever permissions I manually give them. Is this a bug?

Siege, 5 Min cooldown after winning, users need to be able to break blocks, the revert comes after, how can I do this?

Hi, this plugin is really interesting and seems to provide more protection then Residence. What I wanna know: Is there a flag, which makes other unable to destroy fire ? ex. fire on nether rack. Its being used as decoration and Residence doesnt give that option.

Does the frame protection makes them unable to rotate them ?

The opening text in this main page in incredibly confusing...

I'm using GriefPrevention. An older version that's been working all right for a long time. Not sure which version exactly as I can find no way to actually tell. I'm using flat files.

Now, above it says "If you use the flat file dataStore, you will lose any claims made since you switched to 7.8" 1) So, I lose everything if I upgrade? 2) Is there a migration tool? 3) Would this be a good time to start using mysql? 4) Can I find status on these horrible bugs people are talking about, like losing all claims, casing issues, negative claim blocks, problems migrating?

I really want to use this going forward but am very concerned.

    Thank you!

    @pr4xt3roy: Go

An algorithm counts the unnatural blocks in the claims, such as chests, wooden planks and such.)

On a sidenote, ever since the #281 update, griefprevention has been holding up the server for a minute each time on start(After the "Ready to buy/sell claim blocks!") and shutdown. MySQL storage.

I have a question about something that is not quite clear to me.

The documentation says "Claims which appear to be unused (meaning very little is built in them, so they're essentially protecting only nature) will be deleted after two weeks of owner inactivity."

How much is "very little" ?

Oh, and I'm not bashing the developer in any way. We do love Grief Prevention, We're running a server with a mix of very young kids (5 and up) and grown-up's close to their 40s. Grief Prevention is a life saver for everyone involved =)

To users having problems with MySQL migration and negative claim blocks!

... I've had all of those myself. Specifically the development build doesn't seem to be able to migrate to MySQL. I had to downgrade back to b213.

HOWEVER.. latest development build only uses lowercase filenames (relevant for *nix systems) for playerdata, b213 does not. Jumping between the two versions caused utter havoc on our server as I had to _manually_ restore everyones claimblocks.

For example: in b213 i could have a CloakedAlien.yml file. Moving to b277 renamed it to cloakedalien.yml. Downgrading back made it create a blank CloakedAlien.yml alongside the cloakedalien file.yml. Testing b277 once more would now even overwrite the cloakedalien file with the CloakedAlien fresh data (=everything lost)

I realised this a bit too late and since I recently migrated to a linux environment I hadn't set up proper backup yet =/

I'm currently running b213 against MySQL. It did manage to migrate but it didn't migrate the admin claims so I had to import those by hand (by creating dummy admin claims and updating their corners manually)

    Permissions don't work :(

i have moders group. give him permission - griefprevention.admin.*

/manload or restart server, helps nothing everything worked with the old version, with - B: 7.8-beta-b197 for CB 1.6.4-R2.0 and from the new - B: 7.8-beta-b213 for CB 1.7.2-R0.2 don't work

You don't have {nick}'s permission to use that

you forgot to publish nothing? for example new permissions

my permissions for moders Moders: default: false permissions: - griefprevention.admin.* - ............
