Commands

  • /dedicate next <allow|disallow> - Make the next container you place a dedicated one that (allows/disallows) items by default. To make a whitelist-based filter, say "disallow" here and then make exceptions with the /dedicate allow command described below. To make a blacklist-based filter, say "allow" here and then then make exceptions with the /dedicate disallow command described below.

The following commands ONLY work if you are the player who first placed the chest with the /dedicate next .... command. Players cannot adjust the parameters of chests other people placed:

  • /dedicate default <allow|disallow> - Change the default of the dedicated container you are looking at (so you can change it from blacklisting to whitelisting, or visa versa).
  • /dedicate allow [exact|better|worse] - Make the kind of item you are wielding become allowed in the container you are looking at in your crosshairs. The next argument, which is optional, deals with the "damage value" or "data type" of the tool or material. Please note that the damage value (how badly worn a tool is) and the data type (the subtype of material, i.e. the color of wool or the species of tree wood) are actually stored in the same variable in Minecraft. The one single number does double-duty, so the options below work for both damage to tools and to sub-types of materials:
    • The following parameters were only added in version 0.3.4 and did not exist yet in version 0.3.3.
      • exact - The rule only applies to items exactly like this one, identical in sub-type or damage amount. For example only this one specific color of wool, rather than all wool, or only this one type of wood plank (oak, spruce, birch), rather than all wood planks. If you use this with a tool or weapon it will only apply to tools that have been worn down to the exactly identical amount of damage on them. (Useful if you want to make a rule that only applies to brand new undamaged versions of the tool.)
      • better - The rule only applies to items who's amount of damage is equal to or less than the example in your hand. (see below)
      • worse - The rule only applies to items who's amount of damage is equal to or greater than the example in your hand. (see below)
      • None of the above - if you leave the parameter blank, the default behavior is to apply the rule to any and all items of the same type regardless of how damaged they are or what subtype they are.
  • /dedicate disallow [exact|better|worse] - Make the kind of item you are wielding become disallowed in the container you are looking at in your crosshairs. The exact, better, and worse parameters function the same as they do for /dedicate allow (see above).
  • /dedicate clear - remove ALL dedication from the container you are looking at in your crosshairs, making it become mundane again.

The following commands do NOT require you to be the person who placed the container with /dedicate next ... to use them on a container:

  • /dedicate info - Show the dedication list of the container you are looking at in your crosshairs. You do not need to be the person who first placed the chest with /dedicate next .... to be allowed to do this.
