Chatterbox
Chatterbox is currently looking for new parents
With chatterbox, you can log into a website, and use a chat-box to chat with others currently playing on a Minecraft server. This also works the other way around; Wh wen you use the Minecraft chat, anyone using the chat on theebsite can hear (or maybe just see) you.
Install

Browser Support
We currently support all the popular web browsers! yay! But it looks better in CSS3 supported browsers (That was a stab at internet explorer, if your not a web-developer).
P.S. if you are using IE, then you need to switch LIKE RIGHT NOW!!! Internet Explorer is the slowest and they don't support CSS3 :(. try Google chrome, or Firefox instead!
Commands
/cb register <password> - Registers you with the username being your In-Game-Name and the password being what you typed
/cb password <password> - Allows you to change your password to the one you entered
/cb ban <username> - For OP's only (unless you want permissions...), allows you to ban a user from using the web interface of ChatterBox
/cb pardon <username> - For OP's only (unless you want permissions...), allows you to pardon a user so they can use the ChatterBox web interface
/cb help - Lists all available commands
/cb about - Shows the version of ChatterBox

Whats To Come?
- Permissions (Well that could mean two things, a login (done) or a way to hide from the web-users...lets go with maybe!)
- Config-able swear word filter (LOL we need a list of swears! Or we could just make it so you can add your own naughty words :) )
- Multi server support (WHOA DUDE THAT SWEET!)

thx! I plan on adding "remote" commands and I was thinking about adding a customize-able prefix for user not in-game. The tricky part to executing commands is getting the text should be returned.

Posted Feb 16, 2012Is it possible to have a way so admins can ban people without having to be in game? Like perhaps if the admin also logged into the page, and use a command there?
Also a way to visibly distinguish from Chatterbox chatters, and in-game players, maybe a prefix? :)
But otherwise, looks really good, cant wait to test it out.

I could really use a new and updated login system only for CraftBukkit 1.1.
Can I use this plugin only for ingame login?
If yes then i could use some administrative commands like database purge command, preregister players, delete players passwords and so on, also MySQL support.

this is a good question. i hope your familiar with IRCs. but instead of going to an irc page, chatterbox can be ran inside a webpage, so it could work inside your homepage of a website. (or at least that is the plan) and with an irc, you have to create an account separate from the one of your website, and if you ban someone, they can just make a new account. so even though they may seem similar, i think chatterbox will be better for bigger servers (since we have multi-server support ;D ).

To each his own, Bukkit is all about giving users 100% customization of there server and in doing that they provide TONS of options. If you want to go with Bukkit IRC do it. No ones stopping you.
