You can only execute console commands without a player variable with redstone because redstone is not a player.

You can add a command, which will be executed by redstone with a configurable item (default = bone).

Just click on a block. To execute the command, the redstone must be at the block. Then everytime, when the redstone is lighting, the command will be executed.
