WoodDye
WoodDye
No plugin does wood more good! Stain your wood with dyes - bleach it with bone meal!
Simply use bonemeal or light grey dye to lighten wood textures, and brown or black dye to darken them.
Each click with bonemeal drops one shade lighter, brown and black dye make it one shade darker.
Just click on a Wooden Plank, Wooden Stair or Wooden Slab/step with a dye to change its colour.
And now in 2.0 you can use MagmaCream to make wood planks and slabs fireproof!
Fireproof wood uses the oak texture, it actually changes it to the old stone slab/double slab with wood texture so the blocks remain compatible (and fireproof) if used as vanilla minecraft maps.
Config allows you to choose if using dyes to stain wood consumes them, and if magma cream can be used to fireproof.
Also add recipes for wood dyes.
Any Wood Planks + Black Dye = Dark Oak Wood Planks

@PureSpider
Hey there - just uploaded 2.0 with slabs and stairs. Logs coming later once I muddle through the fact that they are 2 different types of block!
@PureSpider
Yes. Yes I have :)
Soon as i get the time i'll be working on this!
Have you though about also implementing this for wooden stairs, slabs and logs? :)
I just have to say this is one of the single greatest ideas for a plugin. Kudos on a brilliant idea. :D It sure beats tearing old buildings down to change the wood color. haha
@Invizibiz
That's apple wood - should be brown dye + any wood?
@SableDnah
Ok, the lighting/ darkening thing is working just fine. I can't, however, find a way to craft the original type/color of wood in the crafting table.
@Invizibiz
No problem. I've updated the description to try to explain a little better.
@SableDnah
Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me. Sorry! :)
@SableDnah
Wow that was fast, thank you!
@Invizibiz Yeah it works on a cycle. Brown or Black dye will darken wood one shade each use - bone meal will lighten it one shade.
The recipes above allow you to craft wood of the desired colour if needed - but needed distict dye for each outcome. Sorry if this caused confusion.
Hey, I am not sure if this is a bug or what, but when I use brown dye or black dye it gives me the same dark brown wood. (Pretty sure that's pine)
@PureSpider Done :)
@PureSpider
Only placed blocks - but that is an excellent idea, I'll see if I can figure out how to do crafting recipes and get to work in it ;)
Can you only dye wood blocks when placed or is there also a recipe for wood block + dye?
@Jythri
Yeah it just cycles through the Data types... tried to get them in order for the default texture - I guess most textures would keep a light and a dark wood.
If nothing else it provides an easy way to change the wood type of your existing buildings now that you have a choice :)
Yeah, unless you have a texture pack that the colors don't line up light to dark anymore. Neat feature, but conditionally useful.
@Jythri
Pretty much, still cool.
What is this doing, actually? Toggling through wood types?
