Overview
VoxelGuest 4 is a suite of administration tools that was previously kept hidden away in the core of The Voxel Box. Its function is to provide the server owner and administrators an easy and powerful system to govern their server. VoxelGuest pioneered the use of a greylist system, a midway point between not allowed on a server and whitelisted on a server. It also previously had a support for a queue of guests, like a public greylist. Another venture VoxelGuest made was a secure offline mode, for those pesky occasions session.minecraft.net goes down and your once private server is open for all to destroy.
Key features include:
- Permissions support for PEX, bPermissions, Bukkit permissions (Dinnerperms), VoxelGuest's own micro-permissions system, and default OP
- Protections of all sorts, from blacklisting items and blocks to toggling many kinds of damage of players to controlling which mobs can spawn
- Offline Mode support
- Region protections
- Vanish and FakeQuit, in case you have a rowdy crowd of members online and you need to check in
- Lag meters, CPU monitors, and memory specifications in-game
- Management of rowdy players e.g. gagging, kicking, and banning functions

psanker Aug 24, 2012 at 23:41 UTC - 0 likesHey guys. So I'm considering removing the Regions module for a while until I make a better version. If that does happen, I do recommend WorldGuard for your regions. Furthermore, I'm going to make /who part of a module soon! I'll keep you posted.

After you stop the server, go into ./plugins/VoxelUpdate/ and delete the "Downloads" folder. I do NOT recommend using VoxelUpdate at this time. There are some fixes on the way that will (hopefully) make VU better.

Don't use /reload to remove these plugins. If you stop the server and remove it will be removed.

This is all documented on the voxelwiki. Put 'disable-module=true' in the offlinemode modules config file. (while your server is off) Can I ask why you want to disable it?

You can check out the documentation on the plugin's wiki page (on voxelwiki.com). However, it can be quite complicated to set up because there are so many options to configure. I advise making a test server with some close friends and test each setting and configuration till you reach your desired setup.
As for visitor days, this is achieved with the Greylist module and the module's Exploration Mode. To set up the module correctly: 1.) Enable the Greylist module. Currently, I advise NOT using the Regions module as it is VERY complicated to set up. 2.) Give your permanent members' group (i.e. non-guests) the permissions "voxelguest.greylist.bypass". 3.) To enable Exploration Mode, use the command "/explorationmode" to toggle your server's Exploration Mode.

DemonLamma Jul 05, 2012 at 11:27 UTC - 0 likesIs there a proper tutorial for people like me who have NO IDEA how to set this up, I've been using a whitelist.txt for a long time but I'd like to set it up for tourists to come explore our creations.
