Thanks for letting me work on this plugin and thx for your idea and version 1 !
Description:
- Make an exp-altar
- Use a book at the altar
- Get exp from the book
- Make an book-altar
- Use the altar
- Transform your exp into a book
Requirements:
- Vault for Permissions and Economy(later)
Commands:
/expbook reload - Reloads the plugin
/expbook disable - Disables the plugin
/expbook help - Shows the help page
Permissions:
- expbook.*
- expbook.command.* - Gives you permissions for all commands
- expbook.use - Lets you use altars
- expbook.create - Lets you create altars. Also lets you destroy altars.
- expbook.command.reload - Lets you use /expbook reload
- expbook.command.disable - Lets you use /expbook disable
- expbook.command.help - Lets you use /expbook help
How to use:
- Place a Lapis Lazuli Block
- Place a redstone Torch on top of the Lapis Lazuli Block
- Right click on the block with a book to get exp
- Place a Iron Block
- Place a redstone Torch on top of the Iron Block
- Right click on the block to transform your exp into a book
- Blocks are configurable!
If you have any suggestions or find any bugs/errors in this plugin go to the forums and let me know.
Planned features:
- sign-support - Let users create a "new" form of altars, sign-design known from ChestShop
- expand bookworm-support - only book to exp at the moment
- get support for BIT-Books

I would like to add my economy plugin to vault btw and when(if) I do that it would be cool to have this work with it

Posted Jan 13, 2012There seems to be a conflict with BIT http://pastebin.com/4Mt8BPHZ should I report this to BIT or is it something that you can fix, it seems to cause all players except me I have the '*' node but it causes them to go from levels like 35 to 99 while turning XP into books.

Also if its not too much work you may want to add a command for players to use to turn off the transformation text. like /expbook verbose. Other than that this plugin is a great Idea and I plan to make it available to my players as soon as the bookworm functionality works.

It's a problem with ExpBook, i hadn't time to implement all routins for bookworm support yet. All features are available for basic use only, but i think i can spend some time for the bookworm support at weekend. Together with the support for altar-books(the requested feature)

Posted Jan 9, 2012Not getting any errors but right-clicking the iron(gold for us) block won't make books I have the bookworm support enable and have bookworm working on the server as well. I also downloaded bukketinventorytools still nothing going to make sure it works without that on it might be incompatibility with some of the other plugins I use but I'm not getting any errors. It just won't make books. Looks like the lapis is working tho just can't do it because I don't have the right book.

Posted Dec 24, 2011I like it, what would make it even cooler is to not have every book be an XPbook as an option for the server owner. So only books that were made from xp can be made back into XP if this sounds good I bet you could get help from the dev of bookworm. Also an option of how much XP you would like to store in the book. Just some suggestions I know that wasn't the original purpose of the plugin but there aren't really any ways of storing exp so far.

There are 500 plugins or more that can be used as a gamebreaker, it's always a question of: How do i use it?
This is a great upgrade for rpg-servers, because now books are useful and players who don't like fighting could get exp.
We use it to build an own class, that is the only one able to enchant items, so books are a kind of currency for this class.

Posted Dec 21, 2011for that, the ratio, between book and exp must be low. And reed needs more time to grow in 1.0.0.
so I think it should work.
And reed have now two needs. first off all for bookshelves. and of cource for exp.
And who cares if more tools exist with a higher level. I does not believe that you have only 40 level tools. For example for level 9 you need 315 experience points. You can config it in that way, that you need 315 books. That means that you need 945 reeds for one level 9 tool.
one thing. for one million reeds you need great reed field. I think 100.000 plots with water next to it. so roundabout 200.000 plots. that would mean 200 x 1000 reed farm. I think it exists enough methods to avoid such fields. And if not, to collect from this field it would be a nasty work.
