SimpleCapes

Table of Contents

This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of Minecraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

This is a simple plugin I wrote that implements Spout's functionality to assign capes. Its all driven by the config, after this is setup nobody needs to ever touch it again.

In order for this plugin to run Spout has to be installed, to see the effects of the plugin, players need to use the SpoutCraft client

Config Example

kiskae:
  group: '1'
kiskae2:
  cape: http://capeurl.com/cape2.png

groups:
  g1:
    cape: http://capeurl.com/cape.png
  g2:
    cape: http://capeurl.com/cape2.png

Use groups to quickly change the cape for a whole lot of people.

Note: Due to the way spout works capes have to be applied after logging in, thus capes are applied once the server verifies the client, this might take a few seconds.

how do you sync these capes, the other addons iskin and citizenskins are having problems doing this.

I tried with both a space and an underscore replacing the "%20", but still get this error:

Spout might encode the strings in such a way that Skill%20capes comes out different, try with another name

There is an inherit problem with that, as in the fact that the cape-url has to be very specific, what I might be able to do is make a command where people can change their 'group', and thus the cape associated with it, but that would require some extra setting up.

Could you add a feature such as permission node for a command such as a command that only allows the player to cape them self. That would be a nice vip perk :D

There are none, all capes are set in the config, I might upload a version with a simple command later

An exampleconfig would be
