SignThatChestContinuation
SignThatChest Continuation by WizzleDonker
SignThatChest is a plugin for bukkit which allows signs to be placed on any chests or storage blocks related to chests. Simply by adding a sign within a 1 block radius of the target block and right clicking it, the sign will be placed onto the chest or storage block you have designated. This is a continuation of a project by Joeyy and made due to a request by the bukkit user jdev21.
I have recieved complete permission and access from Joeyy to create this plugin, and the license I have provided is temporary untill I gather the license this plugin was originally released by. This plugin is almost a complete re-write of the plugin.
Joeyy provided the source for the original plugin in a post on the original forum topic, the final post currently. Direct link to the original source he provided: http://www.mediafire.com/?lyhb4931scfnhrc
How to use
First of all, create some chests, crafting benches or furnaces to put your signs onto. You can still open these blocks when they have signs placed on them. Next, place the signs you would like to attach to the chest or other container block Simply right click the signs to attach them to the block which is behind them!
If a sign has [stc] on the first line, the chest can be opened by right clicking the sign, even if the block above the chest is occupied. Only people with the permission 'SignThatChest.stc' can create and use [stc] signs, if placed on chests. This means these signs can be used as 'special' signs or simply as a way to protect the contents of a chest so it can only be opened by a user with the permission 'SignThatChest.stc' by adding walls on all sides, such so that the chest can only be accessed by right clicking the sign.
Permissions
SignThatChest.attach - Defines whether or not a player can attach a sign to a chest
SignThatChest.stc - Defines whether or not a player can use an [stc] tag on a sign or make a 'special sign'

Please feel free to leave a comment below if you like the continuation, don't wish me to continue this project or have any other complaints. This plugin has been tested against bukkit version #1317, #1240 and #1185 and is proven to work on all of these builds. Also tested working with the newer MC 1.0 builds, 1566+
Can i use this some how to give what ever is inside out one time every x amount of days ?
@rodeyseijkens
THAAAANK YOUUUU!
For the ones that really need this plugin I'm making one that supports the new Crafbukkit builds and has more config options.

Has anyone found a different plugin like this? I don't need any of the economy stuff that goes along with the other plugins, I just simply would like to be able to attach a sign to a chest.
Would someone please take over or update this plugin? :(
Hi,
is there anybody outthere who will takeover the project? I would, but I have no idea about Java.
@Tzeakz
I already sent an PM, 3 weeks ago, but I got no respond.
I hope not! Because i goddamn need it!
Edit:
Just sent a PM to Wizzle... hope he reads it
I think it's dead! :(
I would be very grateful if you two could update this Plugin to 1.2.3 :) its very awsome!
It gets errors loading with the new api, does not work with 1.1-R6. Needs updated to the new api.
Hi,
It would be fine. if it will work with the current release.
Any chance for an R6 update?
Any chance for an R5 update?
@Xordaii
I'll do that now, thanks for notifying me!
Could we please get either an option, or permission node to turn off, the signs atop chests? It is interfering with our ChestShop plugin. It makes unsightly shops. That plugin assumes a wallsign above or 1 block from a chest. Left or right clicking to buy/sell. I know it was a requested feature, but I didn't notice the problem until recently.
UPDATED v1.8 (directed at techjawa and JawaCraft):
To attach signs to the top of chests, right click them when they are a wall sign above chests. They will be converted to sign posts and placed atop the chest.
To place signs atop chests, they need the SignThatChest.attach permission, same as the one used for attaching to chests
@wizzledonker
Thank you very much! This is one of the most useful plugins I use. When you have 200+ chests in a vault it is hard to remember what is where, even organizing them.
@Xordaii
I'll keep it as simple as possible... adding new features but not changing existing features so they don't work. You will probably just be able to update and forget about it until you actually want to use the new features :)
Working great on RB 1595. Thank you for the hard work! Please continue making it easy to use and simple for those of us not using the [stc] tag and features?
We only use the ability to attach signs to things. I like that all I had to do was set up one permission node for everyone. I also like that it isn't complicated to set up, no config, no tool to use(stick), etc. Those things would be bloatware for our purposes.
We don't mind the extra features :) I am just glad the plugin is still easy to use and simple. And that the added features don't make it complicated.
