NoChatSigns is a plugin which aims to keep servers chat-spam free and more enjoyable! NoChatSigns allows you to create signs to block the use of minecraft's chat system in configurable areas. You can define an amount of blocks in each direction of the sign. In this area the chat will be disabled for players. Players with permission can then prefix their chat with ".ncs " (without quotes) to override this chat ban and talk. As soon as a player leaves the area, they can talk again. Some areas where you could put these signs could be underneath your spawn point to prevent chat spam from new users or programs. You could also place these signs in busy areas on your server if the chat is getting out of hand. NoChatSigns features a sign corruption detection mechanism to detect if a sign still exists and delete it if necessary. There are no commands for simplicity's sake and there is only one file (signs.yml) that dumps all the sign info. Please do not modify this file. Sign data is automatically saved at creation and deleted when the sign is destroyed.

Creating a sign

To create a sign, simply place it down and type [ncs] or [nochatsign] on the first line. Put the block distance in each direction on the second line (cant be below 2 and MUST be an integer) and on the third line put true or false. True enables area notifications for that sign and False disables them. The [ncs] tag will turn red if there is an error: Signs will work on walls too!

What else NoSignChat does

Apart from blocking the chat, NoChatSigns has advanced sign corruption detection and signs are automatically unregistered for you if they are destroyed by an explosion. All this is logged to the console:

Permissions

ncs.override - Allows for the .ncs override

ncs.create - Allows user to create sign.

ncs.destroy - Allows user to destroy sign.
