Booklicate
This enables the duplication of written books via a crafting recipe. It also adds a recipe for turning finished Written Books into editable Book and Quills.
Features
- Crafting recipe based book copying and editing
- The recipes work with both leftclicking and shiftclicking on the result
Config
- The recipes are customizable
- bookDRM. 0: Anyone can copy/edit. 1: Anyone can copy, only author can edit. 2: Only author can copy/edit.
- There are no chat commands or permissions needed, though I will add them if requested
The source code is in the jar.

Does this work on 1.7x?Nevermind. This recipte works in vanilla :P
Now just to find a plugin that stop the vanilla copying of books from being able to copy other writers books...
@nowherebrain
Yes i have it running and have noticed no issues
can anyone confirm 1.6.2 working?
Awsome! A version for 1.5.1 Thank you Nebual!
I can't seem to get the DRM setting to work using the latest build. Otherwise seems to work good.
Hope this works for 1.4.7
Just have to modify the map-copy recipe as its current zooms out the map.
Edit::
Works perfect!
I changed the recipe for map duplication to
.. and it worked perfectly. The recipe result was map#0 in the crafting menu but when you took the map it renamed to your mapname ( so renamed maps work too! ). And don't worry, your original map/book is returned to the middle of the crafing draft.
Do you still plan to release booklicate? I love this plugin, but it seems to interfer with the new map zooming recipe.
Working good, thanks for this plugin.
Its very simple and helpfull <3
Hmm, it appears the new minecraft snapshot has added official functionality for duplicating maps! Once bukkit is updated for the snapshot I'll release a version without the map copying component (leaving just booklication, but we'll see how long thats needed). Thanks Jeb :P
After some testing I realized that if you use shift click event, the plugin fails to create the books properly. either they disapper or are being stacket, but you won't have a number on the book indicating that it is a stack... just so you know
btw: yellow works, my fault, just thought yellow is not possible because it's not mentioned in the config =)
GoooooD!!!
I wanted a plugin like this!
THanks a lot.
Hi,
I'm trying to alter the config to change the book recipe to:
[a][a][a]
[a][a][a]
[x][b][a]
Where X is the original book i want to clone, B is a blank book, and A is nothing.
In the comment lines in the config file is nothing about blank slots while crafting. Is that possible? and if so, how do i do it?
EXTREME EDIT*: Found out how to do what i wanted! any character other than the ones in the config's comments is air. Don't know if that's intended, but it works for me.
(*not that extreme)
@ToddVee
"y" works for me in v1.4.2+ (r = Red Dye g = Green Dye b = Blue Dye w = White Dye)
@Joymo
See my PM; I'm unable to reproduce that.
you forgot yellow dye =( ;)
Got another bug:
http://pastie.org/4451142
Suddenly started spamming just now.
@Joymo
Darn, where'd that bug creep back in from? Heres V1.4.3!
This has a dupe issue.
[17:18] <phil235> ye, once you make one legit copy the next ones are free
[17:19] <phil235> The End slot of the bench looks empty but clicking it gives you another copy
@Nebual
I must say this is just awesome, you made one of the collest plugins ever and I agree to RossGosling, keep up the good work and having an open ear =)
Great plugin, but it would be good if you add a perm to allow people to copy their maps or books, if some people only want a certain group to be able to do that
@Nebual
You are really a very good plugin dev as you listen to what people want and add it very quickly unlike many other devs that take a while to update if they ever even do :)
