Lava Forge
Information
Are furnaces getting lame and uninteresting to use? Do you want something better?! I present to you, the lava forge!
A simple forge example.
How to Use
- Place a chest.
- Place lava above it and contain it, only one block deep of lava.
- Toss a listed material below into the forge. (any quantity works!)
- Check chest for yield.
- ????
- Profit!

Current Yield Ratio
It will return about 70% to 120% of input. The system rounds down. If it gets 99% of an item it will return 0 quantity, thus no item. This is intended. For a full stack, it will range between 44 to 76.

- Netherrack

Permissions
There are no permissions as of yet, it's hard to track who threw an item anyways.
Configuration
Minimum-Output-Percentage: Minimum yield percentage, default 70. Number greater than 0. Maximum-Output-Percentage: Maximum yield percentage, default 120. Number greater than 0.

Neat, nice video. As for the pork chops randomly disappearing, it's something to do with Bukkit (if I recall this issue exactly, when I ran into it myself)... sometimes items just randomly get burned, not much I can do about it. I suppose it is yet another hazard of instant smelting.

I apologize for the prolonged response, I hadn't received an email oddly. Probably was filtered in my spam mail.... Alrighty then so, here is my views on that:
Q) Enderchests under the lava? A) There is no way of knowing how the item was tossed, whether it be from dropper, dispenser, player or even entity death... making it VERY hard to implement that.
Q) Per player yield chests? A) Same answer as above, plus that would require a system for a small feature that wouldn't be used very often, if at all. It would be fluff code and I'm trying to keep my plugins simple and straight to the point, with no bloat code.
Does that answer things sufficiently for you? Once more I apologize for the delay.

Posted Jul 8, 2013Is it possible to make something to place this in a public are, so everyone can throw their stuff in the lava, but people can only SEE and TAKE their own stuff out of the chest?
Or is this an impossible job?
Would be cool, love this plugin already!

I was just making something interesting. This smelts instantaneously. From the fact it smelts so fast, that's why I incorporated a yield system with a chance to do better or worse. If you use droppers/dispensers with this you can smelt stacks of ore insanely fast. I was just bored yesterday and made this mod. xD

Actually, it's in release. I have it working, Bukkit staff had to approve the uploaded file.

Have you checked out Assembly Line Furnaces and Lava Furnaces and EZ Furnaces? I'm using the first one and MC is definitely not boring with it.
