DayJobs
Attention!
Quote from LartTyler:Hello everyone.
First off, I want to apologize for simply going MIA and dropping off the face of the earth. Alot of RL stuff came between me and my work on DayJobs, and by the time I had enough time to begin work on it again I had forgotten most everything I had already done for the rewrite of DayJobs.
DayJobs is dead, and I can't see myself reviving it. Too much time has passed, and I don't think I can pick up where I left off.
That said! DayJobs may be deprecated and old, but it provided me with an amazing basis to work off of. It has been replaced with a project I'm calling SolusRpg. It's everything that DayJobs was and wanted to be, and then some. Unlike DayJobs, I won't have to wait on user input for bug reporting. A server I admin for has been kind enough to put Solus into use on their production server, and all my testing will be done in a true live environment before being released (for those so inclined, you can find the server's thread on MinecrafForums here). I will have SolusRpg up on BukkitDev as soon as I have finished writing documentation for it, so stay tuned!

Overview
After hosting an RP server for several months, I became tired of having to settle disputes between players, and having to monitor who's doing what. Most of my time went into ensuring player's kept true to RPing, rather then shaping the server as I had wanted to.
Which is why I designed DayJobs. DayJobs is a plugin that takes some of the load off the shoulders of admins and moderators by restricting how players interact with the world. At the moment, that simply means the tools the players can use, and the blocks they can place. In the future, we at Daybreak Studios plan to add many features that will turn this simple plugin into a full suite to manage role playing in the Minecraft world.
Developers
For developers who are interested in using DayJobs in any of their plugins, you can find the JavaDoc here.
Donators
Anyone who donates will have their name and donation amount listed on the Donations page. If, for whatever reason, you do not want to have your name and donation amount listed there please PM me and let me know.
Attention
DayJobs is currently at version 2.2, not 2.1, as the highest version of the plugin on the Files page would make it seem. For some reason, I can't upload 2.2 to DevBukkit. You can get version 2.2 from GitHub.
@confuz3d
If that's the case, you should take a look at the daughter plugin that sprung from the remains of this one. My current project, SolusRpg, is DayJobs with many more features then DayJobs ever would have allowed me to implement. Think of it as DJ 2.0 :)
You can find more information on it's Bukkit Dev page.
Sad :( that would have been the perfect plugin for my server!

Nothing new? Still waiting for this plugin.
@LartTyler , hey hows going? Can you give us a progress update please? :D How far are you?
In version 2.2, instead of typing in a string in the config.yml (eg can-craft: - FURNACE), is it possible to use also an intenger? (can-craft: - 61) oh and btw, that will be one of the most important plugins on my server :P
Thank you very much for this plugin!
But we all need an UPDATE!!! :)
UPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateUPDATEupdateNOW! lol
jk, take your time in updating, really excited to finally get it :D
@Jupdi
Still a work in progress, things are taking alot longer then I expected. I'm aiming for a release by the new year, but I can't make any definite promises.
Anything new? Would like to use it :)
@twisted420mc
I apologize for the lack of information, I'm currently out of town with family, and we only just got settled in a few hours ago. I'm pretty jet lagged, so I doubt I'll have a chance to do much work on DayJobs tonight, but I will see what I can do about having a release out by tomorrow night or, perhaps, Christmas day.
I'll let you all know when I have a better idea of when I'll have this done, but it shouldn't be much longer :)
its been a few days xD still nothing, any progress updates?
Awesome!! thanks for the reply
@twisted420mc
Yes, I'm currently rewriting the entire plugin from the ground up. It should be finished in a few days, so keep an eye out :)
is this being updated for 1.0 or not? id like to use it
Hey , is it possible to make the console use the job admin change command?
@pdone
Use the Feature Request forum next time instead? XP
Sure, I can add that :) It doesn't sound like it'd be too hard to accomplish, I'll see what I can do
@LartTyler hey, would you be able and willing to add a feature from the old http://forums.bukkit.org/threads/me...quire-the-right-tools-for-the-job-1000.22327/ system, would be kinda cool to reinforce the RP by saying you simply can't chop tree without a axe ;)
@magnificence7
That's very strange. What other plugins are you using? That's the only thing I could think of that would be conflicting with DayJobs. What version of my plugin are you using?
I would really want this plugin, but it doesn't work in my server. DayJobs found PermissionsBukkit v1.2 and is using that. I thought you might want to know that because the changelog says it fixed some problems involving that permission system.
But first of all, the commands are not working. All commands give errors in one way or another. Also, the console keeps throwing "Could not pass event PLAYER_MOVE" errors from source file "me.dbstudios.dayjobs.DayJobs.getInZone(DayJobs.java:651)".
I can't use the plugin at all.
Also, is there a way I can only enable the restrictions on players from DayJobs in 1 world? Thank you.
