How to use CraftFactory

This page will teach you the basics of how to use CraftFactory!

Here is a list of videos for each section:

Factories

Factories are very simple to make and they are very useful once you start linking them together.

Building your Factory

Here is a visual representation of what the factory should look like:

Factory Setup

There is no order to which you place these blocks in besides the fact that the sign above the crafting table needs to be last. Let's go over what each part of the factory is in detail so you can be a pro at making factories!

  • Input Chest: The Input Chest is the chest with the "in" sign over it. The "in" needs to be on the first line and can be over the chest on the right too, but it must be over a chest. You can also choose not to have an input sign (not recommended) but it will take a little extra work to find which one is the input. In the input chest you should put all your ingredients in for the recipe.
  • Output Chest: The output chest would contain the result of the recipe, the item you put on the Sign. This will only happen when you have enough ingredients in the Input Chest.
  • Crafting Table: Now what would a factory be with out a crafting table? It is the center piece of the whole thing. But just having all the materials there won't help you very much. You need to give it power. You do that by giving some red stone power to the crafting table. The most easy way to do this is placing a lever two spaces in front on the crafting table and red stone wire right in front. Then turn on the lever and your factory is ready to start crafting!
  • Factory Sign: Last but not least the factory sign. This is the sign that you type craft on the first line and the item id on the second. Once you press enter the factory is made! As long as you have all the correct materials in the correct spot.

Linking Factories

Linking Factories is also simple to do. After you got your first factory made place a crafting table and a chest next to your first factories Output Chest. This will be your new factories Input Chest. Place a "in" sign right above that chest and create a new Factory Sign above your new crafting table. This is now your new factory and it is linked to your first one.

Pipelines

Pipelines are used to transport items from one chest to another. This can be used to link one chest to another or give a chest certain items so that you can craft multiple things at the same time.

Building Iron Pipelines

Pipelines are easy to build! Just place a chest anywhere you'd like and grab an Iron Block and place it next to it. Then place as many glass blocks as your heart desires (or your factory needs)! Just make sure they are all connected to each other. Once you have that done place a chest at the end of your pipeline. Now above the Iron Block, place a sign and type "move" on the block. Then it will become a pipeline. The last part is to power your pipeline by powering your Iron Block. Then once you start placing your items in the Input Chest it will be in the output chest!

Building Gold Pipelines

Gold pipelines are pretty much the same set up but instead of of a Iron Block you use a Gold Block. Now this may seem pointless but it really isn't. Iron Pipelines just send everything through them! But Gold Pipelines only send a specified item to the Output Chest. How do you speciefy an item you might ask? All you have to do is press enter after the "move" and type in the Item ID. Its that simple to do! And now this makes factories and building large complex once even more complex!

Iron Connectors

Iron Connectors is just a fancy term for using an Iron Block as a connector in a Pipeline. This is so you can cross your redstone wires over pipelines.

Technical Stuff

This is for all the Technical Stuff people who want to get more advance in CraftFactory would need to know but It is also good to know if you have a problem.

Order of Operation

This is how the order works and when do things happen in CraftFactory. This would be helpful If you are having trouble with somthing that could be out of order. Now something you will need to know is some of the jargon I use to describe things. A Worker is a factory, pipelines, or smelting plant. It is something that does work that involves and Input and Output chest. Work is what the worker does like crafting items or travailing items through pipes.

When Order Is Started

  • When a chest is closed.

Order

  1. Chest that was closed is the first Worker.
  2. If the worker is a pipeline it checks for Gold pipelines with the same input and puts them to work first.
  3. The Worker does it's work.
  4. Once the work is finished and the Worker did something in it's work the next worker is found. The next worker is found by seeing which other worker's input is the current workers output.
  5. This repeats itself with the new Worker.

:) Have fun! :)
