Next Release

Progress Bar

Version 1.0

As I continue to work on the game, the numerous comments and ideas I receive drive me to add more features. What I expected to be a simple release has becoming increasingly more complicated requiring more time for planning, coding, and testing. Luckily, I love developing these plugins so rather than pushing the release date farther, I squeeze what spare time I have into creating this plugin. So as promised, one week from the latest Craftbukkit build, February 1st will be the first release of the Cops and Robbers plugin.

Features that will be present upon release

  • Prisoner and cop skins (requires Spout and Spoutcraft!)
  • Titles displaying role of player (requires Spout and Spoutcraft!)
  • Six crimes:
    • Arson - Fires started via flint and steel are illegal. The player instantly becomes a robber.
    • Assault - Three hits to a person is assault. The player is instantly a robber.
    • Drug Dealing - Sneaking (holding shift) and right-clicking a player while you hold sugar gives the target drugs. You become a robber instantly.
    • Drug Production - Making sugar from sugarcane is drug production. You have a 25% chance of being caught for each sugar you make. (Requires Spout!)
    • Drug Use - Right-clicking while holding sugar is doing drugs. The hurt animation is played, but you have a 25% chance you health will go down and a 75% chance it will go up. Your food and saturation level will go up by one point every use. Your exhaustion level will be between 0 and 2. The sugar will be removed after its use. You have a 1 in 139 (or 0.007194%) chance you will die instantly.
    • Murder - Killing a person instantly makes the killer a robber.
  • Cops respawn at the police station while inmates respawn in jail.
  • You do NOT have to be playing Cops and Robbers while the plugin is installed. You can start a new and end a game while the plugin is installed.
  • Commands that display rules, laws, and commands, change roles of players, and start and end the game
  • Players are automatically added and removed from game in response to joining and leaving server.
  • If you are a cop, killing a robber throws them in jail.
  • When jailed, a player's inventory is deleted. And if they die anytime before they are released (even if they've escaped), they respawn in jail.
  • A player's role is shown before they're name when notifying a crime they've committed. For example: Prisoner John started a fire!
