Bookshop - Your books any where
Bookshop 1.4 (for 1.5.2)
(yes we updated :p)
Bookshop is a mod allowing to share ingame written books. It interacts with a database in order to allow downloading or uploading books directly from Minecraft. The website contains an online book editor to let you edit your books even after signing them ! Allowing, among other things, to edit the book's author username and to use a syntax and characters unallowed by the ingame book editor. Bookshop is a Bukkit plugin allowing to share ingame written books.
The plugin
The plugin first goal is to interact with an online database, providing a few commands to do so:
- Book management:
- /bookshop download|dl <id>
- /bookshop upload|up <token> [username]
- /bookshop wiki <item name> // EXPERIMENTAL !
- Book research:
- /bookshop list [username]
- /bookshop lastest
- /bookshop best|top
- /bookshop random
- /bookshop search <title>
Update 1.4:
Due to another plugin also named bookshop, I decided not to rename mine, because it would be too much work as I want it to have the same name as my website. I instead renamed the configuration file from config.yml to bookshopOnlineConfig.yml and to allow admins to edit the command name in the config file to whatever you like.

Awesome! Instant download.
@ursak
I have no idea, your best bet is to try but I don't think there has been much changes in the api between 1.5.2 and 1.4.7 :3 If it's not working, I'll see if I can port it backwards '
Been a jump between versions I see. I guess there's no use hoping for this working with 1.4.7?
@CrazyHamster_42
Well, the point of this is to load and upload from/to an online database :3 But it should work on local servers too, haven't tried though.
@MajikalBlood
The problem isn't the version compatibility, it's coming from the mod not being up to date with the website API. I'm gonna fix that now Also, sorry for the loooong delay, I didn't realise there were responses here :/
When will this be updated for 1.3.2? The server I play on could really use this.
Im running a local server, do I seriously need to connect to the website? :/
The money thing is requested more and more, I'm seriously considering it. But it will take a bit of time '
Thanks for the feedback !
I really like this idea, but maybe you can make it so insted of typing /book list or whatever, you can put them in bookshelves, and when they click the bookshelf they have a choice of buying the book, then they can type like /book yes, to buy it, and /book no to not buy it.
Also I like tyran idea for making it charge a little money.
would there be any way to make it so that in order to "download" the book it could cost money?
Trying to run a RPG server and i think this idea is cool but hey... scribes need money too right?
