PROJECT MOVED / THIS IS INACTIVE
This project has moved! Please look forward to ItemsOnAnything
It's planned to have a more or less "auto-permissions" feature and checks for each block and should support new items without and update.
And maybe make the block list 100% controlled by the user - but I'm still in the planning phase ;)
If you would read the latest comments or the BIG RED HEADER, you would know what's up.
Anyway, I'm aiming to release this plugin ASAP again, MadMaex had some interesting code snippets which should work.
However, I'm far away from a release or test/dev build.
Don't worry I'll notify you guys when I'm ready again to release something public :)
Yeah I cancelled some physics events and the blocks would stay on their position.
This should work, but requires some time. (final ftw -.-")
I will rewrite the whole thing from scratch.
NMS had some issues and caused bugs all the time, so using the Bukkit API only would be a great improvement, however the physics events are called very often.
Anyway thanks for your code example again!
The code example below is tested and works with bukkit 1.4.6-R0.3, though I so far only implemented rails and ladders on glass, the rest is the old BlocksOnGlass code, partially adapted to the new server version.
If you are not able to pick this up again, please give a note, and I would continue to expand on my current codebase.
Dropping NMS from the code seems like a very good idea btw :)
Interesting.
I experimented once to achieve this without NMS code (minecraft internal code), but had no sucess, this might work.
I will see if I can pickup (and maybe rewrite [since it's abandoned since 3 MC versions]) the plugin.
Thanks for your notification :)
The issue is marked as resolved because it's no bug from bukkit, see answer from Travis:
"The client no longer sends the info needed for a RIGHT_CLICK_BLOCK action, it sends a packet that triggers the RIGHT_CLICK_AIR action now."
-> I need the block, air in't what I need, so still not able to pick this up again...
i Own a Steampunk server called Skyeden and this was 1 of my favort plugins iam saddened by this turn of events i hope u find a way to make it work :) if i had any skill in programing i wold help :P but i barey handle premissions lol still fingers Crossed
I did more researches and came across this issue: https://bukkit.atlassian.net/browse/BUKKIT-2161
The client changed and doesn't send the necessary information for me anymore - I have to find another way.
(At the moment I've got no other idea to do this...)
Aw, that's too bad - this was a really nice plugin. Good luck if you intend to keep working on it, otherwise: Thanks for the plugin; it was good while it lasted.

@GermanMataro
Danke!
It would be nice if you could also place other things that don't normally work on each other, like a flower on a melon block.
@xGh0sTkiLLeRx
Good luck to you!

Ooookay, I had a further look into this and there seems to be a way: On getting a right_click_air-Event, you have to place the items manually.
Example:
@Ferrocane
No luck.
I might look into it in 1.5 again and see if the bug was resolved then...
@xGh0sTkiLLeRx
Excitedly inquiring about results. :D
@MadMaex
Well this is interesting!
Thanks, I'll check if this could work!! :D
I found this piece of code, maybe this helps to get the target block?
LivingEntity#getTargetBlock()
