This project is abandoned and its default file will likely not work with the most recent version of Minecraft. Whether this project is out of date or its author has marked it as abandoned, this project is no longer maintained.

BitChat

This is intended for experienced server admins with the ability to implement this plugin into an existing website.

BitChat is a utility plugin that logs all messages sent by players. BitChat sends the message, along with the player name and date, to your own MySQL database for remote storage which allows for easy access from your website or MySQL client. It is very lightweight with close to zero impact on server performance unlike many of the other logging plugins out there.

There's no fuss behind this plugin. It's a chat logger, not a rocket simulator.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Requirements

  • MySQL database
  • Minecraft server
  • PHP, HTML & CSS knowledge to implement into your own website

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Notes

To use the full capability of this plugin you need to implement it into a website. The plugin itself is extremely simple and only stores text inside the database, it is not intended to be accessed from within the game (this might be added later) but from a website.
This plugin will always aim for simplicity to be as lightweight as possible. If you seek resource heavy all-logging plugins there are many other great plugins out there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Planned

  • Advanced logging
  • Web interface demo
  • Permissions [Fixed in next release]
  • Command to wipe log database [Fixed in next release]
  • Filtering

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Installation

  1. Download the BitChat<version>.jar
  2. Put the plugin in the plugins folder of your server.
  3. Start the server and let it generate the config file.
  4. Edit and save the config file and restart the server.
