Wither
About
Control what players can spawn a Wither, what damage the Wither can do, and what worlds the Wither can be spawned in.. This plugin will prevent players without the proper permission node from creating a Wither by placing Soul Sand and Wither Skulls. You are also able to turn off block damage caused by WIther and more! This will not stop damage from the Wither when it is directed at a Player or Mob.
Main Features
- Option to allow only certain players the ability to spawn a Wither (based on permissions)
- Option to prevent block damage caused by Wither explosions and flight.
- Option to prevent explosion damage caused by Wither
- Option to prevent spawning of Wither completely.
- Option to disable spawning of a Wither by worlds.
- Customizable messages for when permission is denied.

Wither v1.6 is out!

v1.6
@EncryptedCurse
Thanks. :)
@Jobsti2
You need a permissions plugin that has per-world support, like PermissionsEx. Then you just want to add a negative permission node (- -wither.create) to the rank that you don't want spawning Withers.
@MutinyCraft
This plugin is awesome, keep up the great work! This one has the most features so far.
@Zacky1
lol
@Zacky1
This plugin controls the Wither and not the Wither Skeleton.
Is this concerning the Wither boss or the Wither skeletons?
Wither v1.5 is out! Get it here.
v1.5
Note: Please delete your config.yml and let it generate a new one. I have changed the name of some of the options.
@MutinyCraft
Wicked, thanks =)
v1.5 will be uploaded in a few hours when I get home from work. Look forward to a custom message that is displayed to a player if they are denied spawning of a Wither, disabling Wither spawning in certain worlds, and a fix for the Wither being able to break paintings/frames.
@Terik2012
Look for a fix in v1.5.
@ryvix
I will add an option for disabling Wither spawning in certain worlds. Look for that in v1.5. As for the cool down and 1 wither spawned at a time, I will look into that a little more.
Hello, thanks for the great plugin! I am hoping to be able to use it to allow withers to spawn in only one world. But is there a way to allow only 1 to spawn at a time? Or even to set a cooldown on how often they can spawn? I think those would be geat options =)
It still has a problem such as "painting" and "item frame" that can be destroyed by wither (though they aren't blocks). However, the plugin is great enough, and thanks for this :)
@Jobsti2
Those are both possible. They already do get a message in red stating "You are not allowed to spawn a Wither!", but I could easily make it configurable. I can look into per-world permissions. I might hold off on per-world settings until I am sure there are no other bugs with the current versions.
Just so this is on the top of the comments: Download latest version here!
Two Ideas:
- All users without the wither.create permissions, getting a configurable message on blocking/build.
So, they will be informed like "you could only spawn a Wither on World XY" ;)
- NoWitherBlockDamage per world configurable. (possible?)
@Terik2012
Thanks you for mentioning this! It is fixed in v1.4.
Sorry about all the version in such short notice, but this plugin is still in beta and I am fixing any issues as soon as they are brought up.
Wither v1.4 fixes an issue where Wither can damage blocks by flying through them. Please delete your config and let the plugin generate a new one! Set NoWitherBlockDamage to true to disable all block damage done by the Wither.
Get v1.4 here.
How about the effect of Wither that can "eat" blocks? The situation is when Wither is blocked by some obstacles. It will destroy them and keep going throwing skull. Don't know if the situation can be changed? :(
Wither v1.3 adds BlockWitherSpawn as a config option. This will completely disable the ability to spawn a Wither. It is defaulted to false. Please regenerate your config if you would like to use this or you can leave your config and it will use the default setting of false to NOT block Wither spawning if you have permission.
Get the latest build here.

Added in v1.3
@harryjamesuk
No problem. :)
@tarahere81
No problem. :)
scratch that =)
Thanks for this =)
Thanks for this.
v1.1 Removes the temporary fix I had for duplicating skulls. This issue has been fixed in the latest CraftBukkit Dev builds. Use CraftBukkit build #2419 or above to prevent duplication of skulls.
Get it here.
Next release will have a config option for completely disabling the spawning of WIthers.
I have the initial release ready and it is awaiting approval. There is a bug in CraftBukkit that allows the duplication of Skulls when placing them in certain situations. I have included a "hacky" fix for this by placing dirt in place of the Skull. It isn't pretty, but it is the best thing I could come up with to prevent duplication. I will take it out as soon as CraftBukkit fixes this.
Get the first release here.
@Demonlover11
I will add that soon.
