Potion Fix
Do you own a PVP server and absolutely hate the 1.6 update because of how overpowered strength potions are? Thinking you might need to completely get rid of the strength effect in your server so it doesn't turn mad? Think again! This plugin will restore the former glory of the strength effect from 1.5. It also restores the old healing and regeneration effects, which is also a nice feature.
How it works
Strength Fix
Let me explain the math behind 1.5 and 1.6 strength.
1.5
- Using ANY sort of weapon(including your bare fists), your damage will be increased at a flat rate of 1.5 Hearts/Level of Strength.
1.6
- Using ANY sort of weapon(including your fancy diamond sword), your damage will be increased by 130%/Level of Strength.
Comparison
Let's just say for a moment that we got this guy with a plain old diamond sword. Nothing fancy, like super enchantments, or anything. In 1.5, if that person drinks a Strength II potion and hits a player/mob with their sword, they will deal 6.5 Hearts of damage to that creature. In 1.6, if that same person drank a Strength II potion and hit a player/mob with their sword, they will deal 14.5 Hearts of damage. What???? 8 Hearts difference?! Are you absolutely kidding me??????? Well, just don't worry about it anymore, this will hopefully fix the stress also.
What the plugin does to restore the old strength
Let me just say, this plugin is pretty simple, but it fixes a complicated problem for server owners. All it does is it detects if someone has strength, if so, the new damage increase will be undone. Then the plugin will add the old strength damage on and that will be the product of a hit. Pretty simple, if you ask me.
Healing Fix
1.5
- Base healing is 3 hearts. Health gained doubles every additional level.
1.6
- Base healing is 2 hearts. Health gained doubles every additional level.
Regeneration Fix
1.5
- 1 heart is gained every 1.25 seconds. Time is cut in half every additional level.
1.6
- 1 heart is gained every 2.5 seconds. Time is cut in half every additional level.

That would have to be a whole other plugin as this has to do with potions. It's not a bad idea though.

Actually, it modifies the effects and has nothing to do with drinking a potion.

This is a fix to the potion effects themselves, not to the effects that items give, and as such is an unnecessary feature to this plugin. Try this plugin instead.
Nice plugin, but could u add a fix to golden apples? (322:1) because i hate absorption its really messed up it needs to be like in 1.5 way more fun!

It was actually much easier to fix those 2 potions. Strength was a little tricky to undo. The strength still needs some working on, it doesn't give the right amount of damage in certain scenarios. Nothing terribly noticeable though, it's still be way better than the system used in vanilla Minecraft.
Thanks for going out of your way to fix Mojang's mess-ups on health/regen potions also. Heh, an increase in the prices* of healing potions while nerfing their effect? Stupid!

Its not increased BY 130%, its DOES 130%, so increased by 30%.

You know, these weren't the only PvP-effecting changes made. Golden apples were altered too, and are used quite a bit. I understand that it is outside of the "potions" category, but fixing this too would seem in-line with the goals of this plugin. Might you consider fixing it too?

Healing and regeneration were changed to give less health overall. For example, Healing I restores 2 hearts, whereas before it restored 3 hearts. And Regeneration I restores 1 heart every 2.5 seconds, whereas before it restored 1 heart every 1.25 seconds.
A little funny how they made healing effects give less health and strength potions cause A LOT more damage. The balance is quite off.
What exactly do the healing/restoration potions do now?
I know it's been awhile, but I've finally gotten around to update this plugin. Not that the old version didn't work, but now there's added features! The old healing and regeneration potions are restored.

Something as simple as this should never break unless if there's some huge change to Bukkit. If so, anyway, I'd update it immediately.
