Simple Backup
Simple backup
Works with 1.10.x and up
If you have any problems with the plugin not working leave a comment!
What can I use this for?
Simple Backup is a plugin to zip up your minecraft server worlds to a folder so you can:
- Let your users download them via file sharing websites such as mediafire
- Roll back your map
Commands:
- /sbackup - Force a backup of your world by running. Can only be ran by OPs or from the server console.
Providing error reports:
When pasting large amounts of text please use http:pastebin.com or http:dev.bukkit.org/paste/. They are completely free and makes it easier for me to read any error messages you provide.
Also provide your SimpleBackup config file and the version of the plugin you are using, when stating you have a problem, so I can see if that's the problem instead.
Configuring:
Click here for an explanation of how to configure this plugin.
Rolling Back Maps:
Click here for how to roll back your maps.
Updates:
This plugin is generally updated when a significant change (new features or bugfixes) has been made to it. The plugin uses only a small number of very basic Bukkit API calls, so it most probably won't break on Bukkit updates. If it does break, we'll update it as soon as possible.
Want to help me out?
You can donate to Simple Backup if you love the plugin to bits and want to show me some support by clicking the donate button in the top right! Don't want to or can't donate?, then just leave a comment showing me support instead.
Thanks for any support you give me, and enjoy simple backup!

Thank you, I can't believe I over looked that. It's backing up my plugins now too! Looking forward to the colored messages!

This feature already exists, all you have to do is add
to the 'config.yml'. You can also back up other folders if you want to with an extra '- FOLDERNAME' for other folders.
I also will look into colouring the messages via the config file.
Can you add an option to also backup the plugins folder? Also as others have mentioned, color formatting on the messages would be great! Thanks.

It works that way I just found the problem I had truezip installed and my zip backup is 12.5GB everything is working great now that I removed truezip.
Will setting 'backup-interval-hours: -1' turn off the auto backup so I can just put it on a schedule with McMyAdmin?
@lazy_architect
try it without zipping up the worlds
The plugin is working great but I do need it to work with WorldEdit snapshots. As far as I can see the zip file is in the right format but WorldEdit keeps saying it has no backup in the folder. Has anyone had this problem or have any clue what I may be doing wrong?
Edit: getting a new error now the target world is not present in the ZIP
Plugin works great but I'd like to see one tiiiiiny feature.
Being able to color your broadcast text with standard text codes. The blue is hard to read and players often miss it.
what config for backup only region files , not the map folder... because i have mcmmo folder in map folder and i don't want to save that.. just the region file
can you help me.. i need to change the backup plugin for my server , the older backup don't work anymore .. stop on mcmmo folder and never end the backup...
@mantun
This works just fine with Tekkit 3.1.2 :)
@Ihysoal The plugin is compatible with Bukkit API 1.2.5 R3 and R4, so it should work. I haven't tested it on a tekkit server, though.
I want to use this plugin, I really do, but I'm missing some basic support I need between my tekkit server's CraftBukkit 1.2.5-R4.0 and the latest. If you're willing to make it compatible with that version, that would be great.
Unless you can guarantee me it works anyway.

Thanks!

Theres a very simple fix to your problem, you forgot to add a '-' before the folder name, here is a corrected config for you: Pastebin
Hi there, I'm just wondering if you could take a look at my config. It's not backing up my plugins, even though I've set it to. Here's my config.
@NotYetRated Yes, it does.
Does this plugin issue a "save-all" and the "save-off" prior to backup, and then a "save-on" after backup?
New version uploaded, awaiting approval.
Contains fixes from Github Pull #14
Updated to latest reccomended build #2340
@ThisUsernameIsMine You are right, the delete feature doesn't go very well with the 'simple' theme of the plugin.
You can configure it like this, if you want e.g. 50 backups:
Just multiply backup-interval-hours by the number of backups and put that in delete-schedule/intervals. Another example if you are backing up twice a day:
Note that this actually measures time (instead of counting), so if you have backup-empty-server: false, you may have less than the desired backups depending on the server usage.
I'm about to give this plugin a try, but i don't find the backup deletion stragegy that simple (to understand).
Can't you just add an option to set a maximum number of backups, where the oldest backup gets deleted when the max. number of backups is reached?
Thanks ;)
@madjack0003 Hi, I'm glad you solved your problem. I'd like to track and fix the issue you were having. Can you, please, send me the old configuration file that was *not* working? Please, use http://pastebin.com/ or http://dev.bukkit.org/paste/
